Great new Version
The new beta version is super, the new Spam filter works great for me. The functionality is superior to Sonicwall, Watchguard, Checkpoint and Netscreen. Well done, Astaro team

if you wouldn't be as ignorant as the other dumb user you would've noticed that the updates are small ones, the reason they come that often is that astaro has realized people want bugs fixed directly instead of waiting for them. astaro also updates automatically. measuring a product's reliability by their updates is amazingly stupid.

if you got no real criticism to enlighten us with I suggest you keep them to yourself.

For which competitor do you work, what product are you using. Did Astaro force you, to use their product?

I dont think your right. Astaro isnt very bad and a good thing for home use. But it is strange to start with 1.7 and to correct failures so often with new versions. Since 28-Dec-2001 to 04-Jun-2002 they have 9 versions. Im programmer and thats not a good way. I think jeff2000uka comment wasnt fine, like yours.

You obviously have no knowledge, understanding and experience with software development, product evolution and release management. And it would appear that you have less knowledge of firewalls based on Linux, whose primary function is to provide security and not open source for quacks wanting to tinker toy around with software!!
You've got it all wrong and that's really a bad thing!

What a bad thing!
They started with version 1.7, hahaha (normaly I think it should be version 1)

Why: It's only marketing.

Every 2 weeks comes a new version (Isn't the old one stable!)

In six month it could be version 28.3

The Linux is terrible: because it isn't standard!

So, the most Linux users have problems with it.

works good for me
I've been using Astaro for the last couple of
months. It's delightfully easy to administer,
and a pleasure to use. For example, every
couple of weeks, some new web-based game
I want to run will want to connect some new
port to some new server. It's a piece of cake
to look at the logs, dynamically updated, as I
recreate the failing connection, then add a rule
that defines that new server, that new service
(port), and enable a connection.
