apt-best is a utility to help users find the most popular Debian packages. It uses the popularity scores found in various locations (freshmeat at the moment). It displays the packages matching the user's search criteria, with their associated scores.

Release Notes: The database was updated. The --update parameter was added, which installs the most recent database. The result list was cleaned up. The smallest scored packages are skipped, and the score ranges from 0 to 100 instead of 0 to 10000.
