Applixware is a fully integrated suite of desktop productivity tools that runs on Linux (Intel, Alpha, & PPC), with versions available for virtually every other major operating system. Included in the suite are tools for word processing and document publishing, spreadsheets, business graphics, graphics editing, data access, and email. With Applixware, you can create compound live-linked documents simply and efficiently. Release Notes: A GTK interface with widgets, GTK themes, Applixware Office theme selection, a new Applixware iconbar, Open, Save, Save As, Import, and Export from one dialog box, a graphical font installer, drag and drop support from compatible file managers, and improved import and export filters; in Words, on-the-fly spell checking, vertical rulers, ruler guides, and updated horizontal rulers; in Spreadsheets, autosum, autoformat, spreadsheet templates, autofill, and an HTML export wizard; and in Data, a native gateway for MySQL and bundled drivers for Postgresql and MySQL.
Release Notes: This is the first milestone release of the upcoming version 5.0 of Applixware. Its many changes include the use of GTK+ widgets instead of Motif, multiple dockable toolbars, combo boxes in toolbars for styles, fonts, and font sizes, tooltips, optional Microsoft Office-style rulers, Linux desktop integration, on-the-fly spellchecking, and SS Autofill and Format capabilities.
Release Notes: This version incorperates an Open Source Software architecture that enables programmers and developers to access to core Applixware runtime environment, Applix's SHELF, which is similar to Microsoft®s Visual Basic, is now fully compatible with Applixware. Additionally, Apllixware 4.4.2 include updated filters to allow document interchange between Microsoft Office 2000, and support for the Euro currency symbol. Applix is now offering free support for Applixware Office for Linux users, utilizing its newly launched http://www.SmartBreak.com web site.
