    Release Notes: A new switch statement and smart-match operator were implemented along with a defined-or operator and many improvements to regular expressions. The engine is no longer recursive, preventing stack overflows.

          Release Notes: This version fixes bugs with backticks not returning a proper return code under Windows 9x, wait() and waitpid() now return the correct pid values for pseudo-pids, new entries added to the end of the environment are now inherited by child processes, close(SOCKET) now returns non-bogus values, and various other bugfixes from the Perl development track have been included.             Release Notes: This release adds support for globalization and Unicode, concurrent interpreters, new regex constructs, lvalue subroutines, subroutine attributes, 64-bit platforms, large file systems, and control over the granularity of warnings.
