aa2map (ASCII art 2 map) is a procedural map generator that parses ASCII art and heightmaps into a Quake III: Arena (id Tech 3) map file. Everyone who can operate a keyboard can use this to create custom maps for id Tech 3 based games.

Release Notes: Many huge code cleanups were done. A Web frontend was added for generating maps online. Run, strafe, landscapes, and other map types are also generated now.

Release Notes: Support for "storeys" was added. If you specify more than one ASCII file, aa2map will stack them on each other like storeys of a building. Support was added for even more entities. A second example map was included.

Release Notes: The --message=TEXT option was added to show a message when a map loads. Support for teleporters was added.

Release Notes: A --maze[=SIZE] option that generates a random maze was added along with --emaze[=SIZE], which is like --maze but with random entities. Support for individual textures was added and many code cleanups were made.

Release Notes: This preview contains example ASCII art as text files and the resulting maps.
