X Message Daemon

X Message Daemon is a background program which displays simple text-based messages on your X display. You can choose parameters such as color, font, icon, and duration. It also has a frontend Perl daemon and client.

Release Notes: This release features a random message displayer to remind you of daily things, a first attempt at moving config files to user directories, and a Perl interface (using SWIG) to Xmsglib, which will be used in other projects related to the Dave/Dina project.

Release Notes: A new client to check your POP3 accounts for new mail has been added. libXmsg has been libtoolized. Files are now installed in a standard tree, bringing all Xmsgd-related data files together.

Release Notes: This release fixes some issues with the source tarball install. Some more of the files are now installed in FHS-compliant locations.

Release Notes: This new release focuses on ease of install; Xmsgd has switched over to automake and autoconf, and a spec file has been included to generate your own RPM. A pre-built RedHat 7.x RPM is also provided.
