3DMLW is a 3D engine that utilizes an XML based markup language. It is capable of running as a plugin in common Web browsers and supports .3ds, .obj, .an8 (Anim8or) models, .blend (Blender) data files, .tga, .jpg, and .png textures, and .ogg sound.

Contrary to what it may look like 3DMLW is not dead and development is still ongoing. Version 1 is stable and has received some maintenace fixes, but under the cover of the slightly long radio silence we've been quite busy and done a complete redesign and rewrite of the platform. A more modular approach has been taken with switchable engines and a plethora of new features have been added. There's still a bit to be done before prime time, but we've set up a wiki (Links section) to publish news, documenation, guides and preview binaries. Head on over and have a look around!

Release Notes: Several tiny URI bugs were fixed. A .3ds parser bug that ignores invalid/out-of-bounds indices was fixed. An HTTP out of connections bug was fixed. The model viewer was enhanced. A skeleton position bug was fixed. A bone color attribute was added. Some bugs were fixed in the installer. A bug with threads was fixed, thus eliminating shutdown delay. Proper cursor overlays were added. The capability to click and open links inside displayed content was added. Other smaller bugs were fixed.
