Something had been bugging me about THIS code for a few months. A few days ago I decided the time was right to fix it. So, I gathered the developers together in one room, locked the door, and said...

The result was all that inefficient code has been replaced.
All "web templates" have been placed into one PHP file and the configuration code is now one-quarter the size.
What a relief!
Hmm, I'm not sure what the permission issue might be... If you can come up with some steps to reproduce it, you can open an 'Issue' on the lnav github page and I can take a closer look at the problem. Thanks!

Also, working with updated documentation to the released 0.44 version and it is close to release format. If anyone wants to take a look and make any suggestions. It is currently just in odt format.
A good companion to glogg. Only problem is with permissions. Even if you run as root, the file browser is denied permission to open files in the log folder.
My /var/log/mylogs permissions are: drwxr--xr--x and the files: -rw-r-----
