Download No website 22 Apr 13:49 FLOM 0.5.0

Screenshot

FLOM is a distributed lock manager that can be used to avoid shell tricks and safely execute different tasks that cannot run at the same time. It manages process serialization in the same way nice manages process prioritization. It implements the same lock mode semantic proposed by VMS DLM to allow non-trivial command serialization use cases. The goal is to "just work"; everything implemented must be useful and easy to use (configuration is reduced to a bare minimum). It works inside a single system or in a network of IP connected systems.

Release Notes: This release introduces support for numeric resources. They can be used when you want to limit the maximum number of concurrent running tasks. By mixing numeric and simple resources, you can model patterns like "1 writer, max N readers" or, more generically, you can implement basic workload balancing features inside a single host or a network of hosts.

The Java Algebra System (JAS) is an object oriented, type safe, multi-threaded approach to computer algebra. JAS provides a well designed software library using generic types for algebraic computations implemented in the Java programming language. The library can be used as any other Java software package, or it can be used interactively or interpreted through a Jython or JRuby front end. The focus at the moment is on commutative and solvable polynomials, power-series, multivariate polynomial factorization, Gröbner bases, and applications.

The definition of greatest common divisor has changed and left and right gcds are now distinguished. Various improvements were made and bugs were fixed. The GB class constructors with PairList parameters have been completed. There is a new parallel recursive polynomial Gröbner base computation. More cases are handled in the GBAlgorithmBuilder and GBFactory. The jython scripting GB now have selectable sig-based GB algorithms. Unit tests for the new algorithms are added.

Download Website 22 Apr 13:42 Lilith Logback event viewer 0.9.44

Screenshot

Lilith is a logging and access event viewer for the Logback logging framework. It has features comparable to Chainsaw, a logging event viewer for log4j. This means that it can receive logging events from remote applications using Logback as their logging backend. It uses files to buffer the received events locally, so it is possible to keep vast amounts of logging events at your fingertip while still being able to check only the ones you are really interested in by using filtering conditions.

Release Notes: This release brings huge improvements to the usage of conditions, notably in"Focus" and "Exclude" in the popup and "Search" menu. You can save conditions using Cmd/Ctrl-I, and these will show up in the "Saved conditions" section of "Focus" and "Exclude". This will most likely be the last Java 5 compatible version. Development will continue on Java 8.

Screenshot

Finit is a small SysV init replacement with process supervision similar to that of daemontools and runit. Its focus is on small and embedded GNU/Linux systems, although it is fully functional on standard server and desktop installations. Finit is fast because it starts services in parallel; it then supervises and automatically restarts them if they fail. This can be extended upon with custom callbacks for all services, hooks into the boot process, or plugins to extend the functionality and adapt Finit to your needs. Finit is not only fast, it’s arguably one of the easiest to get started with. A complete system can be booted with one simple configuration file.
