BakAndImgCD is a small Linux-based operating system which has been designed to perform the two tasks: data backup (with support for btrfs, ext2, ext3, ext4, FAT, HFS, HFS+, jfs, Minix, NTFS, ReiserFS, and XFS) and disk imaging (using Partimage, Partclone, and GNU ddrescue). The output files (archives and images) can be optionally compressed and sent to a remote FTP sever via Ethernet, WiFi, or dial-up. It is fully compatible with UNetbootin, which can be used to create an easy-to-use live USB.

The Parted Magic OS employs core programs from GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful programs including Partition Image, TestDisk, fdisk, sfdisk, dd, and ddrescue and an excellent set of documentation to benefit the user. An extensive collection of fileystem tools are also included, and the following filesystems are supported: ext2, ext3, ext4, FAT16, FAT32, HFS, HFS+, JFS, Linux-swap, NTFS, ReiserRS, reiser4, and XFS. It loads completely to system memory and requires at least 256MB of RAM to operate.
Release Notes: GParted has been upgraded to version 0.19.0. The Linux kernel has been upgraded to 3.14.4. Firefox has been updated to 29.0.1. OpenSSL was upgared to 1.0.1h. The "Sleep" button in the secure erase program now automatically wakes the computer after 5 seconds. Most people will no longer have to tap the power button. Support for ATI video cards was improved. A few rare bugs in the Parted Magic Mount program were fixed. NTFS file systems that were improperly unmounted now mount. A problem on some machines where the window manager would crash the mount program when the window size was set to zero was fixed.
WCD is a directory changer for DOS and Unix. Another NCD (Norton Change Directory) clone. This program jumps to a (sub)directory anywhere in the directory-tree. The directory to jump to can be given by only the first characters or an expression with wildcards.
Release Notes: New translations of user interface messages to Esperanto, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. The manual has been translated into Dutch, German, and Ukrainian. The code was cleaned up.
fio is an I/O tool meant to be used both for benchmark and stress/hardware verification. It has support for 19 different types of I/O engines (sync, mmap, libaio, posixaio, SG v3, splice, null, network, syslet, guasi, solarisaio, and more), I/O priorities (for newer Linux kernels), rate I/O, forked or threaded jobs, and much more. It can work on block devices as well as files. fio accepts job descriptions in a simple-to-understand text format. Several example job files are included. fio displays all sorts of I/O performance information, including complete IO latencies and percentiles. Fio is in wide use in many places, for both benchmarking, QA, and verification purposes. It supports Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, OS X, OpenSolaris, AIX, HP-UX, Android, and Windows.
Release Notes: A sync engine fix for Windows, support for the Ceph rados block device and Gluster IO engine, improvements to the replay of iologs or blktrace files, support for ARM 64, improvements for S390, and parallellized writeout of IO logs, making that part much faster. There were lots of other bugfixes and improvements.
Gnome Partition Editor is a graphical frontend to libparted. It supports creating, resizing, moving, and copying of partitions.
Release Notes: This release refactors a section of code to address random crash behavior, and makes partition information dialog viewable on 800x600 screens. Also included are other bugfixes and language translation updates.
Opendedup is a deduplication-based filesystem and block device designed to provide inline deduplication and flexiblity for applications. It benefits services such as backup, archiving, NAS storage, and Virtual Machine primary and secondary storage, and can be deployed in both a stand alone and distributed, multi node configuration. Standalone, it provides inline deduplication, replication, and unlimited snapshot capabilities. In a multi-node configuration, it adds global intra-volume deduplication, block storage redundancy, and block storage expandability. and will store and share unique data blocks with other volumes within the cluster. These volumes can also specify a level of redundancy for data stored in the cluster.
Release Notes: This release fixed replication reporting of progress by bytes transferred, symlink issues when a file does not exist, symlink permissions, and a clustered DSE buffer size mismatch issue. The Guava library was upgraded to version 1.7.
License4J is a total solution for software product licensing. It provides Java libraries and GUI tools for generating and validating license keys, license text, and floating license files. It is designed to be easy to use and integrate in your application. A License Manager GUI is provided for generating and storing licenses, and a Floating License Server can host and serve created floating licenses. An Online.License4J System allows single or multiple license activations to be defined. It also supports license generation through HTTP post either from a payment processor or a custom script.
Release Notes: Main license table renderer performance was improved. Hardware ID value was added to the License Generation Settings window, so node-locked licenses can be auto generated with a HTTP POST request. License list, activation list, and online key usage list can be exported to an XLSX file for opening in Excel, OpenOffice, and LibreOffice. The file will only include enabled headers on the license table. Bugs were fixed. Third party libraries were updated.
