containers is a simple implementation of containers for Linux, making secure containers as easy to create and use as a traditional chroot. It comprises three utilities, contain, inject, and pseudo, which use the kernel support for user namespaces merged in Linux 3.8.

Release Notes: This is the first public release of containers. All three tools are feature-complete and stable, but additional documentation and examples will be included in a future 1.0 release.

Clzip is a lossless data compressor with a user interface similar to the one of gzip or bzip2. Clzip decompresses almost as fast as gzip and compresses more than bzip2, which makes it well suited for software distribution and data archiving. Clzip uses the lzip file format; the files produced by clzip are fully compatible with lzip-1.4 or newer, and can be rescued with lziprecover. Clzip is, in fact, a C language implementation of lzip, intended for embedded devices or systems lacking a C++ compiler. The lzip file format is designed for long-term data archiving and provides very safe integrity checking.

Release Notes: This release introduces two new features which allow better integration between WebIssues and email. The email inbox receives email messages from a selected email account, automatically creates issues based on these email messages, and creates comments and attachments for existing issues. Subscriptions make it possible to watch individual, selected issues for change. An email notification is sent to subscribers when someone modifies the issue in any way.

Qtractor is an Audio/MIDI multi-track sequencer application. The initial target platform is Linux, using the infrastructure of the Jack Audio Connection Kit (JACK) for audio and the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) for MIDI. It is meant to be a fairly-featured Linux desktop audio workstation GUI, specially dedicated to the personal home studio.

Release Notes: A new tool on Edit/Insert, "Remove range with options", has been added. LV2 plugin Dyn-Manifest support is now silently supported. A Time, Frames, or BBT display format option is now in place through context menus. Audio track export has been fixed with regard to including automation effects. Clip/event selection of clear/reset is now consistent. A few less critical or innocuous fixes and/or improvements have also been added.

Libtubo Interprocess Communication is a small and simple library to run processes in the background and communicate via the stdout, stderr, and stdin file descriptors. The functionality of libtubo is similar to the glib function g_spawn_async_with_pipes(), except that all pipe setup and monitoring is taken care of. The calling function only has to provide the functions with which to process the input/output of the remote process. The library first appeared in the year 2000 in the xfce3 desktop as part of the xfsamba application, and is now available for use for other developers.

libpng (PNG library) is a collection of routines used to create and manipulate PNG format graphics files. The PNG format was designed as a replacement for GIF and, to a lesser extent, TIFF, with many improvements and extensions.

Release Notes: This release provides a minor update to the ARM support. There are new "pngfix" and "png-fix-itxt" programs in the contrib/tools directory. "pngfix" optimizes the CMF bytes of the zlib datastream in the IDAT chunks, and "png-fix-itxt" fixes PNG files that were created with libpng-1.6.0 or 1.6.1 that have an incorrect length field in the iTXt chunks.

pngcrush is an excellent batch-mode compression utility for PNG images. Depending on the application that created the original PNGs, it can improve the file size anywhere from a few percent to 40% or more (completely losslessly). The utility also allows specified PNG chunks (e.g. text comments) to be inserted or deleted, and it can fix incorrect gamma info written by Photoshop 5.0 as well as the erroneous iCCP chunk written by Photoshop 5.5.

Release Notes: This release fixes a bug with the new "-reduce" option which would remove the alpha channel even when it was not all-opaque.

Siege is a regression test and benchmark utility. It can stress test a single URL with a user defined number of simulated users, or it can read many URLs into memory and stress them simultaneously. The program reports the total number of hits recorded, bytes transferred, response time, concurrency, and return status. Siege supports HTTP/1.0 and 1.1 protocols, GET and POST directives, cookies, transaction logging, and basic authentication. Its features are configurable on a per user basis.

Release Notes: This release improves inspection order in relation to stream reassembly and fixes a false positive on IP fragments, the pass action, HTTP Connect tunnel crashes, and several Unix socket issues.
