(R)?ex is a tool that allows you to manage all of your servers from a central point, through the complete process of configuration management and software deployment.
Release Notes: This is a bugfix release fixing bugs within the OpenSSH connection method, the hostname evaluation in ini files, and the additional server parameters.
isl is a library for manipulating sets and relations of integer points bounded by linear constraints. Supported operations on sets include intersection, union, set difference, emptiness check, convex hull, (integer) affine hull, integer projection, and computing the lexicographic minimum using parametric integer programming. It also includes an ILP solver based on generalized basis reduction and operations geared towards polyhedral compilation such as dependence analysis, scheduling, and AST generation.
Release Notes: This release adds an isl_val abstraction that is intended to replace isl_int. The latter will be removed in the next release.
4MLinux is a miniature Linux distribution focusing on four capabilities: maintenance (by using it as a system rescue live CD), multimedia (for example, for playing video DVDs), miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and mystery (meaning console games).
Release Notes: This is an updated version of 4MLinux 6.0 Media Edition, using 4MLinux 6.1 as a core system. It has a wide set of applications for playing (MPlayer SVN-36169-4.7.2, xine 1.2.3, TiMidity++ 2.14.0, MikMod 3.2.0), recording (Audacity 2.0.3, SoX 14.4.1), and ripping media (DVD Shrink 126.96.36.199, MEncoder SVN-36169-4.7.2, FFmpeg Git-2013-04-09). Xpdf 3.0.3 and XPaint 188.8.131.52 are also included.
Hiawatha is a secure and advanced Web server for Unix. It has been written with security as its main goal. It features advanced access control, prevention of SQL injection and cross-site scripting, banning of clients who try such exploits, the ability to run CGIs under any UID/GID you want, and many other features. These features make Hiawatha an interesting Web server for those who need more security than what the other available Web servers are offering. Hiawatha is also fast and easy to configure.
Release Notes: This release adds only small changes, but is worth the upgrade.
FVWM-Crystal aims to create an easy to use, pretty, but also powerful desktop environment for Linux or other Unix-like operating systems. It uses the following programs: FVWM as a window manager and "main core"; different ways to provide icons on the desktop including support for many file managers and custom commands; xterm, aterm, mrxvt, or urxvt as terminal emulators; MPD or XMMS2 as music players (there's built-in support for controlling these programs), and several other tools for different functions, like setting a wallpaper or taking screenshots.
Release Notes: This is a distribution improvement release. The only changes are that Python shebangs have been reverted to Python2, which makes the Python scripts compatible with Python2 >= 2.5 (tested with python-2.5, 2.6, and 2.7), and the Copying file is no longer installed, making it easier for GNU/Linux distributions to package Fvwm-Crystal.
amsynth is a realtime polyphonic Analogue Modeling SYNTHesizer. It provides virtual analogue synthesis in the style of the classic Moog Minimoog/Roland Junos. It offers an easy-to-use interface and synth engine, while still creating varied sounds.
Release Notes: This release brings LV2 support, significant improvements to the sound engine's capabilities, and a substantial sound bank library
PeaZip is a cross-platform file archiver utility that provides a unified portable GUI for many open source technologies like 7-Zip, FreeArc, PAQ, UPX, etc. Creates 7Z, ARC, BZ2, GZ, *PAQ, PEA, QUAD/BALZ, TAR, UPX, WIM, XZ, and ZIP files. It extracts more than 150 archive types: ACE, ARJ, CAB, DMG, ISO, LHA, RAR, UDF, ZIPX, and more. Features of PeaZip include extracting, creating, and converting multiple archives at once, creating self-extracting archives, split/join files, strong encryption with two factor authentication, an encrypted password manager, secure deletion, find duplicate files, calculate hashes, and export job definitions as scripts.
Release Notes: This release improves the file and archive manager, makes bookmarks more prominent, updates the Web search function, reorganizes the Settings form, and is faster in adding files to an archive.
G4L is a hard disk and partition imaging and cloning tool. The created images are optionally compressed, and they can be stored on a local hard drive or transferred to an anonymous FTP server. A drive can be cloned using the "Click'n'Clone" function. G4L supports file splitting if the local filesystem does not support writing files larger than 2GB. The included kernel supports ATA, serial-ATA, and SCSI drives. Common network cards are supported. It is packaged as a bootable CD image with an ncurses GUI for easy use.
Release Notes: This release upgrades sysLinux to 5.10, upgrades the build to include linux-firmware to support special hardware, and updates the linux-firmware files as of 6/07/2013: kernel 3.0.82 2013/06/13 (bz3x0.82), kernel 3.4.49 2013/06/13 (bz3x4.49), kernel 3.9.6 2013/06/13 (bz3x9.6), kernel 3.9.6 (now the default kernel), and kernel 3.10-rc6 2013/06/15 (bz3x10.rc6).
wallpaperd is a wallpaper setting daemon that supports setting the wallpaper using a set of different strategies. Wallpapers can be changed based on workspace number, workspace name, on a timed interval, or using Gnome .xml background lists.
Release Notes: This minor bugfix release improves parsing of configuration files and adds a STATIC mode for backgrounds to avoid unnecessary work when switching workspaces.
CPANPLUS::Dist::Slackware creates Slackware-compatible packages from Perl modules available at the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network (CPAN).
Release Notes: This release supports Module::Build::Tiny and switches from Build.PL to Makefile.PL.
Beets is a media library management system designed for obsessive-compulsive music geeks. It catalogs your collection, automatically improving its metadata as it goes using the MusicBrainz database. It also downloads cover art for albums it imports. Then it provides a bouquet of tools for manipulating and accessing your music. Beets also includes a music player that speaks the MPD protocol, so you can play music in your beets library using any MPD client.
Release Notes: This release introduces a major internal change in the way that similarity scores are handled. It means that the importer interface can now show you exactly why a match is assigned its score and that the autotagger gained a few new options which let you customize how matches are prioritized and recommended.
Password Manager Daemon serves clients data via a Unix domain socket or over a remote TLS connection. The data is stored in an (optionally) encrypted XML file, and the client must provide the key to modify it. It has the option to use gpg-agent for key management (including smartcards). It is multi-threaded, allowing more than one client to be connected at the same time. Key retrieval may be done via a key file or a pinentry program. A key cache is used, so a client won't need to enter a passphrase each time one is required. It is very configurable. Libpwmd is also available as a separate project and is a library making it easy for applications to use Pwmd.
Release Notes: This version lets the “allowed” configuration parameter work with the OPEN and cache commands. It also lets the –no-passphrase switch work with non-PKI data files and contains a couple of bugfixes.
