Auto Multiple Choice (AMC) is a piece of software that helps you to create and manage multiple choice questionnaires, with automated marking. Tests can be written in plain text or LaTeX. Automated correction and grading is performed from scans of the answer sheets using optical mark recognition.
Release Notes: Boxes to be filled by the students can now be shaped as circles or ovals. New AMC-TXT tags can be used to indicate italics or bold fonts and to insert LaTeX commands. You can now customize emails, for example by inserting the student's name and including attachments. Manual data capture can now be made from the scan view itself.
storeBackup is a backup utility that stores files on other disks. It's able to compress data, and recognize copying and moving of files and directories (deduplication), and unifies the advantages of traditional full and incremental backups. It can handle big image files with block-wise changes efficiently. Depending on its contents, every file is stored only once on disk. Tools for analyzing backup data and restoring are provided. Once archived, files are accessible by mounting file systems (locally, or via Samba or NFS). It is easy to install and configure. Additional features are backup consistency checking, offline backups, and replication of backups.
Release Notes: Bugs were fixed. If you use storeBackupMount.pl, you will have to adjust your options. Other scripts also have a few new options.

It is a GUI program that allows you to view the structure of a database, execute SQL queries and scripts, browse and export table data, handle BLOB/CLOB values, modify database meta objects, etc. It has a native UI (provided by the Eclipse SWT library), great performance, and relatively low memory consumption.
Release Notes: An MS Access driver was added. Driver download, project import/export, Big Integer value handling, and Oracle TIMESTAMP formatting were fixed. The result set UI was improved.
Peg Solitaire is a board game played with pegs: in the classic mode, the board has 33 positions and 32 tokens because the center position is without form. The objective of Peg Solitaire is to remove the pegs but only with horizontal and vertical movements. It is also known as English peg solitaire or Senku. In the reverse modes, initially there is only one piece on the board.
Release Notes: This release added 168 new problems (some with default finish). There are now more than 330 games in total. Brazilian and Polish translations were added. Random new games can be generated, and you can create your own games. An OS/2 version was added and there were other minor changes and improvements.
HGL is a compiler/interpreter suite for developing images. It features its own simple but powerful language, Lua integration, output in various formats as well as runtime input handled by plugins, and easy integration into various environments like Web servers or graphical applications. The input is taken from a source file, which has to be compiled for quick and frequent access by the interpreter. An interpreter then runs the compiled files, takes input from custom plugins (if neccessary), and outputs its result via custom plugins.
Release Notes: Faster loading, many bugfixes, and better packaging for Debian-based systems.
Marathon is a GUI test tool that allows you to play and record scripts against a Java Swing UI. It's written in Java, and uses Python and Ruby as its scripting language (the emphasis being on an extremely simple, readable syntax that customers/testers/analysts feel comfortable with). Marathon includes a recorder, editor, player, and debugger to simplify working with test scripts.
Release Notes: This release added a suite editor for creating new test suite files that can be executed in batch mode and fixed issues with MARATHON_HOME not being set properly in some cases, issues pertaining to using plain JWindow objects, and recording and playback issues with the file chooser and table header.
Avro Editor is a viewer and editor for Avro binary files. Information is displayed as a tree and can be updated, saved as XML or HTML, and compared to another saved file.
Release Notes: The latest versions of RecordEditor and Avro were included. Views Displayed is now shown in tabs rather than separate screens. The export function was enhanced, and minor enhancements were made to the find, filter, and compare functions.
The Logfile Navigator, lnav for short, is a curses-based tool for viewing and analyzing log files. The value added by lnav over text viewers or editors is that it takes advantage of any semantic information that can be gleaned from the log file, such as timestamps and log levels. Using this extra semantic information, lnav can do things like interleaving messages from different files, generate histograms of messages over time, and provide hotkeys for navigating through the file. These features are meant to allow the user to quickly and efficiently focus on problems.
Release Notes: Files can now be specified on the commandline using wildcards so new files are automatically loaded. Directories can also be passed as commandline arguments to read all of the files in the directory. This release adds a "C" hotkey to clear any existing user bookmarks and experimental support for accepting input from mice.
Gnome Partition Editor is a graphical frontend to libparted. It supports creating, resizing, moving, and copying of partitions.
Release Notes: This release includes a critical bugfix for a crash which might cause loss of data while moving or copying a partition. The authors strongly recommend that all users of GParted 0.15.0 upgrade to GParted 0.16.0 to avoid data loss. Also included are bugfixes, enhancements, and language translation updates.
Bareos (Backup Archiving REcovery Open Sourced) is a fork of the backup project from bacula.org. It has been in development since late 2010, and has many new features.
Release Notes: This release adds installer packages for Windows as well as rpm/deb packages for all major Linux distributions, including the new OpenSuse 12.3. After a two months beta phase, there have been many tests, and two pilot customers have been successfully running the beta in a productive environment.
Corlpack is a faster Ada implementation of the basic types from the R Language. It includes calculations with units of measurement, a broad range of other basic types such as urn-like identifiers, coordinate, and monetary amounts. Basic types are represented as 128-bit UUIDs so heterogenous arrays, without predesigned structure, can be easily built. Heap allocation for complex structures is minimized, hopefully resulting in much shorter and more predictable execution time. An API with a small number of generic functions aims to simplify Ada programming for computational applications, especially for scientists from non-IT fields.
Release Notes: This release adds an executable tool named "corl" which provides an interface between shells and some corlpack functions. It also includes minor improvements and cleanups, such as removal of compilation warnings and better error support when loading vuuids (reporting line numbers of errors).
Erebus is a 2D real-time role-playing game with three quests and random dungeons. It is a classic point-n-click style RPG, with dungeons to explore, enemies to fight, NPCs to talk to, sub-quests to complete, scenery to interact with, weapons, treasure, and other items to find.
Release Notes: This release fixes a major bug which caused choosing a custom name to mean that the player started with no items. Various improvements have been made to pathfinding and the user interface. The graphical perspective of doors has been improved. Undead enemies have been added for random dungeons. Various other bugs have been fixed.
BeagleSNES is a complete filesystem image which turns the ARM-based BeagleBoard-xM and BeagleBone Black platforms into an embedded appliance capable of playing Super Nintendo game titles. It uses a modified version of the SDL port of SNES9X as its emulator, boots into a GUI frontend for selecting game titles, and uses USB gamepads as the controllers. Most titles run quite well on the platform, though some performance-intensive titles and titles which use special hardware (such as titles which use the SuperFX chip) will run too slowly to be playable. Individual BeagleSNES components (bootloader, kernel, GUI/emulator) have been broken out of the filesystem image in order to allow interested developers to examine them without having to examine the full filesystem image. Full filesystem images, as well as images containing only the BeagleSNES binary and data files, are available.
Release Notes: This release changes from analog video (S-Video) to digital video (DVI), decreases boot time from about 25 seconds down to about 20 seconds, improves gamepad support to add dynamic gamepad discovery, adds a kernel splash screen, publishes the first version of the documentation, and shrinks the rootfs filesystem from 7.5 gigabytes to 3.5 gigabytes, to fit on 4 GB microSD cards.
pHash is an implementation of various perceptual hashing algorithms. A perceptual hash is a fingerprint of a multimedia file derived from various features from its content. Unlike cryptographic hash functions that rely on the avalanche effect of small changes in input leading to drastic changes in the output, perceptual hashes are "close" to one another if the features are similar. Potential applications include copyright protection, similarity searches for media files, or even digital forensics.
Release Notes: This release fixes compilation bugs and updates automake configuration files to support building on Gentoo.
passwdqc is a password/passphrase strength checking and policy enforcement tool set, including an optional PAM module (pam_passwdqc), command-line programs (pwqcheck and pwqgen), and a library (libpasswdqc). On systems with PAM, pam_passwdqc is normally invoked on password changes by programs such as passwd(1). It is capable of checking password or passphrase strength, enforcing a policy, and offering randomly-generated passphrases, with all of these features being optional and easily (re-)configurable. pwqcheck and pwqgen are standalone password/passphrase strength checking and random passphrase generator programs, respectively, and are usable from scripts. libpasswdqc is the underlying library, which may also be used from third-party programs.
Release Notes: Detection of common character sequences has been improved (as tested on RockYou top 100k and top 1M). Generation of random passphrases with non-default settings has been improved: case toggling has been made optional, possible use of trailing single characters has been added, words are now separated with dashes when different separator characters are not in use, and the range of possible bit sizes of generated passphrases has been expanded. The code has been made more robust. Mac OS X support has been added. pwqcheck.php, a PHP wrapper function around the pwqcheck program, has been added.
