Download Website 26 Mar 18:24 plumb 3.0.0

Screenshot

plumb is a shell with focus on pipes: instead of pipelines, it can build large graphs of processes (nodes) and pipes (edges). Pipes are simple unidirectional streams without side effects. Traffic can be controlled by virtual processes (which are nodes just like real processes, but are implemented in plumb for minimal overhead). Virtual processes can split, merge, regex filter/alter, and shape the streams. Timers and starting/stopping processes or even rewiring the script on the fly are also supported. It is portable (using libporty) and behaves exactly the same way on Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, many BSD variants, and older UNIX systems.

Release Notes: This is the first release of the third rewrite of plumb. It features starting/stopping processes, piping, a rich set of virtual processes for text and binary streams, a virtual process for executing plumb script commands' runtime, and a utility for drawing internal states from dumps. Plumb has been tested on multiple operating systems using the supplied regression tests.

Download Website 26 Mar 12:38 scconfig 1.0.1

Screenshot

Scconfig is a single-layer, modular autotools replacement written in ANSI-C (C89). It's been tested on a dozen different UNIX-like operating systems (including Linux, Windows and Mac OS X).

Release Notes: This release features wildcard dependencies - anything under a node, recursively, is detected by a single call. Many new tests have been added in the default and socket modules, including integer and ptr/offset types. New math and userpass modules were provided for detecting libc math function corner cases and getpw* functions.

Download Website 26 Mar 12:37 libporty 0.9.2

Screenshot

Libporty provides a higher level API for some commonly used library functions such as sockets, date/time, file system access, background processes, and asynchronous DNS resolving. Libporty is configured using scconfig and the API is guaranteed to work the same way on all supported systems. An application that exclusively uses the libporty API will not require autotools/scconfig for porting. Libporty has been tested on Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, multiple BSD variants, Minix, OpenSolaris, and some ancient Unix systems.

Release Notes: After a year of testing, this release offers gradual improvements to the library and a major API change for async bgproc file inheritance and async stdio. In the new async bgproc API, inheritance works the same way on Windows and *nix. The async stdio API provides two sockets instead of one, allowing better redirection. A new API was provided for handling libc math function corner cases, even on platforms that do not offer FPE. A better wrapper around c99tree was provided to suit daily use. There were many minor fixes and new features. Unfortunately the new async bgproc feature is partially broken on IRIX.

Graphs are constructed in a modular fashion from separate components. Datasets can be interactively modified or created from within the program.

Release Notes: A broken-axis widget has been added to support axes with numerical gaps in them. Grid lines are now always plotted under (or over) the data. Polar plots now support minimum radii and logarithmic radii. SAMP and VoTable support have been added. Stepped plots can have the points shifted by the gaps by half the gaps between data points. The point picker picks to the clipboard and/or the console. The axes on the ternary plot can now be reversed. Several minor bugs have also been fixed.

Download Website 26 Mar 12:35 PowerMail 1.9
