Download Website 09 Mar 22:46 Disk ARchive 2.4.10

Screenshot

Dar is a shell command that makes backup of a directory tree and files. Its features include splitting archives over several files, DVD, CD, ZIP, or floppies, compression, full or differential backups, strong encryption, proper saving and restoration of hard links, extended attributes, file forks, Door inodes, and sparse files, remote backup using pipes and external commands (such as ssh), and rearrangement of the "slices" of an existing archive. It can run commands between slices, before and after saving some defined files or directories (for a proper database backup, for example), and quickly retrieve individual files from differential and full backups. Several external GUIs exist as alternatives to its CLI interface, like kdar, DarGUI, SaraB, etc.

Release Notes: This release mainly contains two fixes. The first bug was located in the sparse file detection mechanism, leading a file containing a very specific string just before a hole to fail being backed up, with dar reporting "CRC error" at testing time. This same bug also caused "CRC error" to be reported at archive merging time. The second was located in the dar_manager database code, which led to database corruption. The fix avoids further corruption and also cleans up existing databases which have been corrupted by that bug.

Download Website 09 Mar 19:38 pngcrush 1.7.53

Screenshot

pngcrush is an excellent batch-mode compression utility for PNG images. Depending on the application that created the original PNGs, it can improve the file size anywhere from a few percent to 40% or more (completely losslessly). The utility also allows specified PNG chunks (e.g. text comments) to be inserted or deleted, and it can fix incorrect gamma info written by Photoshop 5.0 as well as the erroneous iCCP chunk written by Photoshop 5.5.

Release Notes: This release fixes a bug introduced in 1.7.52 which caused the -reduce option to produce a tRNS chunk which had more entries than the PLTE chunk (which is invalid).

Download Website 09 Mar 19:36 Jhead 2.97

Screenshot

Jhead is a command line driven utility for extracting digital camera settings from the Exif format files used by many digital cameras. It handles the various confusing ways these can be expressed, and displays them as F-stop, shutter speed, etc. It is also able to reduce the size of digital camera JPEGs without loss of information, by deleting integral thumbnails that digital cameras put into the Exif header. If you need to add Exif support to a program, this is a simple program to cut and paste from. Many projects, including PHP, have reused code from this utility.

No download Website 09 Mar 16:36 Bibfilex 0.1.3

Screenshot

Bibfilex is software to create and manage archives of bibliographical items (books, articles, etc.) according to Biblatex structure and rules. It is far less advanced than other bibliographic managers like JabRef, and allows only a few customizations. Its strength is speed and lightness, especially when used with many items. It uses SQLite as a database. It can store the items according to each of the entry types described in the Biblatex manual (book, article, etc.), import the content of a file in Biblatex format (like a JabRef database, a Mendeley BibTex exported file, or a Google Books BibTex downloaded file), export data to a Biblatex file (like a JabRef database), locate an item just typing its author name, title, etc. filter the items by selecting a keyword in a list, filter the items according to three different conditions (or to manually modify the SQL statement of the filter to make it more suitable or complex) or according to the \cite commands contained within a Latex document, associate various attachments (files of every kind) with each item, activate autocompletion of data in each field with “Ctrl + Space”, automatically create unique BibTex keys according to a pattern defined by the user, and specify the fields (columns) shown in the grid view of the data. It is also possible to replace the \cite and \printbibliography commands in a Latex document with extended citations and bibliography, which are composed according to a user-defined pattern, to export the Latex file in other formats more easily.

Release Notes: This release replaces the \cite and \printbibliography commands in a Latex document with extended citations and bibliography taken from the file in use, which are composed according to a user-defined pattern within the software. Bugs have been fixed.

Release Notes: This release added Python 3 support and the logarithmic barrier augmented function constraint algorithm. All of the package, module, class, function, and method docstrings have been updated to Epydoc format, improving the online documentation. A few bugs have been eliminated, and the printouts have been regularised.

Download Website 09 Mar 09:31 GetDP 2.3.0

Screenshot

GetDP is a general finite element solver using mixed elements to discretize de Rham-type complexes in one, two, and three dimensions. The main feature of GetDP is the closeness between the input data defining discrete problems (written by the user in ASCII data files) and the symbolic mathematical expressions of these problems.

Release Notes: This release introduces a new build system based on cmake, a new family of Field functions to use data imported from Gmsh, and improved list handling capabilities.

Download Website 09 Mar 09:31 Gmsh 2.7.0

Screenshot

Gmsh is an automatic 3D finite element grid generator with built-in CAD and post-processing facilities. Its design goal is to provide a simple meshing tool with parametric input and advanced visualization capabilities. It is built around four modules: geometry, mesh, solver, and post-processing. The specification of any input to these modules is done either interactively using the graphical user interface (based on FLTK and OpenGL) or in ASCII text files using Gmsh's own scripting language.

Release Notes: This release introduces a new single-window GUI with a dynamically customizable widget tree, faster STEP/BRep import, arbitrary size image export, faster 2D Delaunay/Frontal algorithms, and a full option viewer/editor. Many bugs were fixed.

The virtual keyboard was revamped. Graphics, texture management, and chat were improved. Long-press for touch devices was improved to drag-drop addons between your ship ports and inventory in the Ship Configuration menu. Selecting 'Route' on a non-local mission sets it up to automatically pop up the mission dialog when you dock to that station. There were many other changes.
