No download No website 16 Feb 01:50 libklel 1.1.0

Screenshot

The KoreLogic Expression Language Library (libklel) is a C library that provides a simple expression language that can be embedded in other programs. It does not implement a full programming language, but rather a simpler expression language called KL-EL that is designed to provide arithmetic and logic operations in situations where embedding a full programming language would be overkill. KL-EL can access functions and variables exported from the embedding program, and is statically and strongly typed, which helps ensure that expressions are valid before they are executed. The embedding API is easy to use, and the library itself is very small.

Release Notes: This release reworks the error-reporting APIs for better consistency. It adds interfaces to retrieve additional version information at runtime. It adds several 'abort' functions to the KL-EL standard library that make it possible for expressions to generate runtime errors, which are also useful for testing purposes. The guts of several routines have been relocated to reduce the number of opportunities for memory allocation errors once an expression has been compiled. This release fixes a bug in the interpreter that could cause a crash if the actual argument to a function produces a runtime error.

Screenshot

ExactImage is a fast C++ image processing library. Unlike ImageMagick, it allows operation in several color spaces and bit depths natively, resulting in much lower memory and computational requirements. Some optimized algorithms operate in 1/20 of the time ImageMagick requires, and displaying large images can be as fast as 1/10 of the time the "display" program takes.

Release Notes: Performance and precision of some algorithms was improved. Code cleanups. Non-C99 capable C++ compiler support was improved. Minor bugs were fixed.

Download Website 16 Feb 01:26 simple disk benchmark 0.7.1

Screenshot

sdb is a really simple program to benchmark disks. It only writes/reads data sequentially to/from a file and calculates the performance of this action. A memory buffer is used for input/output to get values close to the real performance of the disk or RAID system. You can use flags like O_DIRECT and O_SYNC to avoid buffering by the operating system. It is similar to dd, but there are some differences, since dd was not created for benchmarking a disk. It is possible to initialize the buffer with random values before writing them to the disk or a file on the disk. It is a simple but effective program to get the maximum speed of a disk. Due to the simplicity, you will get the results much faster than with a more complex benchmark.

Release Notes: There is a minor bug in version 0.7: if first the "normal" throughput for large files with a big block size was calculated and then IOPS calculations were made, the measurement of the time was wrong. The time for both was used to calculate the throughput, which was wrong. If you measure them both separately, the values are correct.
