Download Website 24 Jan 14:00 JASocket 3.0.0.0 RC1

Screenshot

JASocket is a lock-free, scalable, and robust server framework with no single point of failure. Servers are run on a cluster of nodes. Servers interact with other servers using mobile agents, which reduces the number of messages and thus reduces the overall system latency. Administration is handled via ssh.

Avatar

Release Notes: When a command agent arrives on a remote node, it registers with the agent channel using its response ID, and when a response is returned, the agent channel unregisters the agent. This registration is used by a user interrupt agent to locate the command agent being interrupted. On receipt of a user interrupt (^C), the 'to' command sends a user interrupt agent to the remote command agent, the 'who' command returns a partial result, and the 'pause' command cancels its timer.

Download Website 24 Jan 13:52 StoryText 3.9

Screenshot

StoryText (formerly PyUseCase) is an unconventional GUI testing tool written in Python. It currently has mature support for PyGTK, beta status support for Java Swing, SWT/Eclipse RCP, and Tkinter, and very basic support for wxPython. Instead of recording GUI mechanics directly, it asks the user for descriptive names and hence builds up a "domain language" along with a "UI map file" that translates it into the current GUI layout. Instead of an "assertion" mechanism, it auto-generates a log of the GUI appearance and changes to it, so as to use that as a baseline for text-based testing, using e.g. TextTest. Instead of requiring the tester to add "wait" statements by hand, it includes support for instrumenting code so that "waits" can be recorded.

Release Notes: Many enhancements for SWT/Eclipse, some new features in the GUI usecase editor, and a crucial bugfix for Swing with Java 7.

More abstractly, Fubsy is an engine for conditional execution of actions based on the dependencies between related resources.

Release Notes: Incremental builds were implemented (if built with a database backend; currently only Kyoto Cabinet is supported). Fubsy can now build itself, although the build script doesn't run unit tests yet. A fubsydebug tool was added for debugging hacks that don't belong in the main interface.
