Download Website 03 Jan 01:31 XINS 3.1-alpha1

Screenshot

XINS is a technology used to define, create, and invoke remote APIs. XINS is specification-oriented. When API specifications are written (in XML), XINS will transform them to HTML-based documentation and Java code for both the client-side and the server-side. The communication is based on HTTP. XINS competes with the complex SOAP technology. Main design goals include simplicity, scalability, and testability. XINS is not only a specification technology, but also an application development framework. It offers transaction logging, unique log documentation, and active code generation.

Release Notes: This release enables receiving compressed data by default. It has better support for SSL connections. Messages will appear in the logs if the server is outdated. A new performance chapter has been added to the documentation, which is now up-to-date on the website.

Download Website 03 Jan 01:25 YB.ORM 0.3.3

Screenshot

The YB.ORM library aims to simplify writing C++ code that has to deal with SQL databases. The goal is to provide a convenient interface like SQLAlchemy (Python) or Hibernate (Java). The library itself is cross-platform and supports a variety of SQL dialects: SQLite3, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, and Firebird. Integration with Boost, Qt4, and wxWidgets is built-in. In a typical usage scenario, you would describe your database schema and table relationships in a simple XML-based format, generate SQL code to populate database schema with tables, generate C++ classes, add application-specific logic to the classes, and use these classes in cooperation with the Session object to query objects from the database, create new or modify/delete existing objects, or link and unlink objects using relations. Simple serialization to XML is supported along with connection pooling.

Release Notes: This is mostly a refactoring and bugfixing release. It adds Tutorial 4 (tree structure stored in a table), adds fixes to build under Mac OS X, refactors the Engine class hierarchy, fills FK values on linking of two objects if possible, extends logging for delete_object() operation, makes DDL statements generated from Schema iterable, renames several classes and files to follow the common style and to better reflect their contents, and adds many fixes to library logic and interfaces.

Download No website 02 Jan 23:15 The Two-Layered GUI Toolkit 0.9.1

Screenshot

The Two-Layered GUI Toolkit is a library of GUI helper classes which is designed in a way to simplify development of separate interchangeable front-ends. For every supported dialog box type, there is a settings class (independent from a GUI toolkit) whose options can be used by one of the implementations for a specific GUI toolkit (bindings for Gtk#, WPF, and WinForms are provided, but custom ones can be added). That is, the dialog definition can be prepared by the application's core component and passed to the front-end, which uses it to instantiate the dialog box using whatever GUI toolkit it likes.

Release Notes: This release features some small fixes and two notable new features: Dialog boxes (message boxes, input boxes, etc.) can now have a headline text which should describe the purpose of the dialog box or message window in a short sentence, and the options on the wizard page with radio buttons can now alternatively be shown in a list box.

Download No website 02 Jan 23:14 jkaptive 1.10

Screenshot

Jkaptive is a simple captive portal without RADIUS (and thus without total security, but at the same time without too much hassle). The reason behind this is because a lot of site administrators don't need tight security; their site is just a café that offers free Internet access on an unsecured WLAN access point connected to the Internet, and they need a ticketing system to make it cumbersome for average people to use this offering without actually buying a single coffee. Jkaptive itself just presents the login page and checks the token. The blocking of unticketed traffic is done through Linux' netfilter. As no proxy server is involved, jkaptive has no performance penalty, nor does it create problems with non-HTTP traffic. Once the token is accepted, jkaptive is out of the way of any network packets completely. For presenting the login page, jkaptive has a built-in Web server, so no additional Web server application is needed.

Release Notes: Rate limiting rules have been added for jkaptive HTTP server. The socket in the HTTP father process is now closed in any case after worker exit, resolving a file descriptor exhaustion problem.
