A feature to search for two strings and remove the text appearing between them has been implemented.

No download Website 14 Oct 22:52 Timeline 1.0.0

Screenshot

Timeline is a cross-platform application for displaying and navigating events on a timeline.

Release Notes: After about 4.5 years in development, timeline 1.0.0 is released. The main reason for the major version change is that this release can no longer read files produced with versions before 0.10.0 (released over 3 years ago). The other big thing in 1.0.0 is that the experimental support for dates before year 0 is no longer experimental. Large parts of the date handling have been rewritten, partly to be able to support BC dates in a better way.

Download Website 14 Oct 22:34 syslog-ng 3.5.0beta3

Screenshot

syslog-ng is a syslogd replacement for a wide variety of UNIX systems that supports IPv6 and is capable of transferring log messages reliably using TCP and SSL and filtering the content of messages using regular expressions. Both RFC3164 and RFC5424 style messages are handled, but more esoteric formats like BSD process accounting logs are supported too. Apart from regular text files, it supports storing messages into SQL and MongoDB databases, and forward messages to local processes via pipes or UNIX domain sockets. This makes syslog-ng ideal as an integration platform. syslog-ng supports extracting structured information from the traditionally text based syslog via csv-parser(), db-parser(), and patterndb. Tag based classification, rewriting messages, and outputting messages in JSON is also possible. This makes syslog-ng ideal for preprocessing events for further analysis, be that home-grown scripts or SIEM systems. syslog-ng scales well on today's multi processor and multi-core systems: reaching 1,000,000 messages per second is a reality for the simplest use cases.

Release Notes: This beta has many new features compared to 3.4, including: redis and stomp destinations; multi-line support; type hinting; in-list() filter (black/white list based filtering); and many more. It is ready for testing on most platforms.

Download Website 14 Oct 22:32 Kangas Sound Editor QI 3.2.0

Screenshot

Kangas Sound Editor QI lets you synthesize sound effects and music effectively from scratch. The QI variant of the Kangas Sound Editor has its own internal database engine (HSQLDB), unlike the regular Kangas Sound Editor, which needs MySQL Server to be separately downloaded and installed. Musical pitches are constructed using a system of frequency ratios, rather than the conventional equal-temperament notation. MIDI pitch numbers can be used to specify a base note from which other notes are relative. The user interface uses a system of cells or boxes, which are placed using drag and drop, and that have associated properties which describe various characteristics of the instrument, sound, or chord group. There is a kangaroo theme to this software.

Release Notes: New graph types 'Square root', 'Cube root', 'Power', and 'Geometric sequence' have been added. An octave/note selector for the MIDI start pitch of Sequence boxes has been introduced. Numeric fields in the Properties window now have spinners for incrementing or decrementing values, and sliders for major or minor adjustments to values. Graph evaluation has been improved, including a fix of a possible divide by zero error. Bugs in the rendering of Waveform, Amplitude, and Pitch views, including a failure for these to be resized properly, have been fixed.

Download Website 14 Oct 22:31 Mandos 1.6.1

Screenshot

The Mandos system allows computers to have encrypted root file systems and at the same time be capable of remote or unattended reboots. The computers run a small client program in the initial RAM disk environment which will communicate with a server over a network. All network communication is encrypted using TLS. The clients are identified by the server using an OpenPGP key that is unique to each client. The server sends the clients an encrypted password. The encrypted password is decrypted by the clients using the same OpenPGP key, and the password is then used to unlock the root file system.

Avatar

Release Notes: All client, and mandos-ctl, options for time intervals now also take an RFC 3339 duration. The default key type and length are now RSA and 4096 bit. Bugfixes: handles fast checkers (like ":") correctly. Doesn't print output from checkers when running in the foreground. Handles when a client is removed from clients.conf but saved settings remain. mandos-monitor now displays standout (reverse video). Boolean options work from the config file again. --no-ipv6 works again. The new default GnuTLS priority string is slightly more compatible with older versions of GnuTLS. A bashism in mandos-keygen has been fixed.
