Screenshot

Galois is a computer game of the "falling blocks" type, but with unique features. Unlike most other games of that type, it is not limited to blocks made of four two-dimensional, square bricks: you can choose among several different brick shapes, blocks composed of more or fewer bricks, and even between two- and three-dimensional games.

Release Notes: Initial freecode announcement.

Download Website 27 Jan 21:27 dd_rescue 1.30

Screenshot

dd_rescue copies data from one file or block device to another. It is intended for error recovery, so by default, it doesn't abort on errors and doesn't truncate the output file. It uses large block sizes to quicken the copying, but falls back to small blocks upon encountering errors. It produces reports that allow you to keep track of bad blocks. dd_rescue features a number of optimizations, such as sparse block detection, preallocation, and Linux zerocopy (splice). It supports data protection by (multi-pass) overwriting of files or partitions with good and fast random numbers.

Avatar

Release Notes: -p correctly copies access times, output to stdout works, and the progress info is always updated when exiting. This release fixes copying the last block with hardbs==softbs. Better option validation. Allows for 512 byte blocks with direct I/O now, and has better defaults for block sizes. Optimization for writing the same block again and again (-R). Can write random data (e.g. -z seedval or -Z /dev/urandom) using the libc or Eli Billauer's RC4 based PRNG. Writes can be avoided if the output file/device already contains identical contents (-W). Builds .deb binaries.

Download No website 27 Jan 21:23 The Two-Layered GUI Toolkit 1.0

Screenshot

The Two-Layered GUI Toolkit is a library of GUI helper classes which is designed in a way to simplify development of separate interchangeable front-ends. For every supported dialog box type, there is a settings class (independent from a GUI toolkit) whose options can be used by one of the implementations for a specific GUI toolkit (bindings for Gtk#, WPF, and WinForms are provided, but custom ones can be added). That is, the dialog definition can be prepared by the application's core component and passed to the front-end, which uses it to instantiate the dialog box using whatever GUI toolkit it likes.

Release Notes: This first stable release contains some bugfixes over the last beta release.

No download No website 27 Jan 17:49 libQtCassandra 0.4.7

Screenshot

The libQtCassandra library is an advanced C++ library used to access Cassandra servers. Unlike the basic Cassadra server interface, this C++ library provides separate objects that handle each level of the server data, i.e. the cluster, contexts, table, rows, and cells. It uses Qt and the Qt style for all the classes, which makes it very easy to use if you already know Qt.

Avatar

Release Notes: This version includes many small fixes and changes and one big innovation: a Lamport bakery algorithm implementation in order to have a Cassandra only Lock. You can have a lock to make sure that only one of your many clients is accessing a Cassandra object at a time. This works on your entire cluster. The only thing you have to do before using it is to add the names of all your clients (all the computers that may end up using the lock object.) See the tests/cassandra_lock.cpp sample for details.
