Strategico is an engine for running statistical analysis over groups of time series. It can manage one or more groups (projects) of time series: by default, you can get data from a database or CSV files, normalize them, and then save them inside the engine. The first statistical analysis implemented inside Strategico is the "Long Term Prediction": it automatically finds the best model that fits each time series. Some of the models implemented are mean, trend, linear, exponential smoothing, and Arima. Strategico is scalable: the statistical analysis over each time series (of a project) can be run separately and independently. It is suggested that you set up an HPC Cluster (High Performance Computing) and/or use a resource scheduler like slurm. It is developed with R, one of the most famous statistical languages.

Release Notes: A new Web application with new features and a new layout using Bootstrap. Updated to the latest features of the LTP package. More reports (statistics, suspicious items, etc.).

Protracer is a simple raytracer originally written in 1999 as a university course project. Please be aware that, despite the name, there is nothing especially professional about Protracer. The name is meant to be a pun on the Protracker music tracker application. It currently supports a very limited subset of the POV-Ray file format.

Release Notes: This release adds a test script.

Download Website 25 Sep 21:48 Asymptote 2.19

Asymptote is a powerful descriptive 2D and 3D vector graphics language for technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like syntax. It provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting that LaTeX does for scientific text. Asymptote is a programming language as opposed to just a graphics program. It can exploit the best features of script (command-driven) and graphical user interface (GUI) methods. High-level graphics commands are implemented in the language itself, allowing them to be easily tailored to specific applications.

Release Notes: Numerical resolution issues with the PRC camera orientation and viewportshift were fixed. The lighting of NURBS surfaces was fixed. The special 8192 strlen NSIS build was now correctly reinstated, with stubs, to prevent the installer from overwriting Windows PATH environment variables > 1023 bytes.

Download Website 25 Sep 21:43 GNU libextractor 1.0.0

libextractor is a library used to extract meta-data from files of arbitrary type. It is designed to use helper-libraries to perform the actual extraction, and to be trivially extendable by linking against external extractors for additional file types. The goal is to provide developers of file-sharing networks, file managers, and WWW-indexing bots with a universal library to obtain meta-data about files. It includes a shell-command and bindings for Java (JNI) and Python.

Release Notes: Major changes to the plugin mechanism now allow out-of-process plugins full random access to the entire file. Most plugins have been rewritten to the new plugin API. The external (libextractor) API remains unchanged and compatible with 0.6. As part of the rewrite, many plugins were changed to use standard 3rd party libraries (libjpeg, libtiff, libgif, libtidy, and libmagic) for parsing. A new plugin based on gstreamer replaces many existing multimedia plugins. Automated test cases for (almost all) of the plugins were also written, and the documentation was updated.

Download Website 25 Sep 15:16 Zero Install Injector 1.12

Zero Install is a decentralized cross-distribution software installation system. It allows software developers to publish programs directly from their own Web sites, while supporting features familiar from centralized distribution repositories such as shared libraries, automatic updates, and digital signatures. It is intended to complement, rather than replace, the operating system's package management. 0install packages never interfere with those provided by the distribution.

Release Notes: Support was added for OS-specific dependencies (e.g. for dependencies only needed on Windows) and for constraints in native package implementations (e.g. Debian's python3-gi package cannot be used with Python 2). "0install man" allows the man command to work with 0install applications. "0install digest" now has an option to display the manifest. A bug in the PackageKit support which meant it sometimes failed to detect candidate packages was fixed.

Download Website 25 Sep 15:15 Xdgmenumaker 0.4

Xdgmenumaker is a command line tool that generates application menus using xdg information by scanning *.desktop files in all $XDG_DATA_DIRS/applications directories. All applications are sorted according to the main categories as specified by freedesktop.org. Generated menu entries are localised according to the current user locale settings. It currently supports generation of menus for Fluxbox, IceWM, and WindowMaker. Icons from the current GTK+ icon theme can be included in the menus, when they are supported by the output format.

Release Notes: Menus are now always created in a submenu, unless the new --no-submenu option is used (applicable to fluxbox and icewm menus).

Download Website 25 Sep 15:15 slkbuild 0.9.0

slkbuild is a script inspired by makepkg from Arch that greatly simplifies the package building process in Slackware and derivatives. It parses an easy-to-create SLKBUILD meta-file and from that creates a conventional build script that follows all of the Slackware packaging standards and that can be run on its own. The advantage of using slkbuild is that it ensures package uniformity and allows for an easy-to-edit meta-file in the event that one might require customization or might need to update the script for new releases. It also makes the build process much quicker, since it takes care of downloading the source, untarring, gzipping man and info pages, stripping binaries, making sure that the menu entry for a graphical application is compliant, as well as a host of other things.

Release Notes: SLKBUILD templates were added for software that uses gconf or mateconf. URLs are modified if they contain an "=" symbol. Partially downloaded files are removed if the download has failed.

No download Website 25 Sep 15:14 fpgatools 2012-09-24

fpgatools is a toolchain for programming flexible programmable gate arrays (FPGAs). The only supported chip at this time is the xc6slx9, a cheap (circa $10 U.S.) but powerful 45nm-generation chip with about 2400 LUTs, block ram, and multiply-accumulate devices. The principles of fpgatools are to reach the maximum physical performance of the chip, to provide fast development cycles, to be an independent toolchain which only depends on other Free Software, and to be a lightweight C implementation without a GUI.

Release Notes: With this release, the first design has been verified: hello_world is an unclocked AND gate design which was verified in a xc6slx9.

Download Website 25 Sep 15:13 din is noise 4.2.1

din is a software musical instrument and audio synthesizer. Bezier curves are used to draw and sculpt waveforms, create gating and modulation (FM and AM) patterns, and create delay feedback and volume patterns. Download Website 25 Sep 07:28 Armadillo C++ Library 3.4.2

Armadillo is a C++ linear algebra library (matrix maths) aiming towards a good balance between speed and ease of use. The API is deliberately similar to Matlab's. Integer, floating point, and complex numbers are supported, as well as a subset of trigonometric and statistics functions. Various matrix decompositions are provided through optional integration with LAPACK and ATLAS numerics libraries. A delayed evaluation approach, based on template meta-programming, is used (during compile time) to combine several operations into one and reduce or eliminate the need for temporaries.

Release Notes: This release contains fixes for handling sparse submatrix views. It also has minor speedups for sparse matrices.

No download No website 25 Sep 07:28 Bio::SeqReader 0.1.3

Bio::SeqReader provides a lightweight alternative to Bioperl when all you really need is a helper for reading sequence data. The Bio::SeqReader::Fastq class correctly handles FASTQ input with multiline sequence or quality data.

Release Notes: Documentation improvements. Explicit incorporation of IO::Handle to deal with some apparently platform-specific misbehavior casting stdin as an appropriate filehandle. The modules remain dependent only upon the Perl core.
