Jkaptive is a simple captive portal without RADIUS (and thus without total security, but at the same time without too much hassle). The reason behind this is because a lot of site administrators don't need tight security; their site is just a café that offers free Internet access on an unsecured WLAN access point connected to the Internet, and they need a ticketing system to make it cumbersome for average people to use this offering without actually buying a single coffee. Jkaptive itself just presents the login page and checks the token. The blocking of unticketed traffic is done through Linux' netfilter. As no proxy server is involved, jkaptive has no performance penalty, nor does it create problems with non-HTTP traffic. Once the token is accepted, jkaptive is out of the way of any network packets completely. For presenting the login page, jkaptive has a built-in Web server, so no additional Web server application is needed.
Release Notes: A resource leak related to file descriptors in the built-in httpd has been found and fixed.

haveged is a daemon that feeds the /dev/random pool on Linux using an adaptation of the HArdware Volatile Entropy Gathering and Expansion algorithm invented at IRISA. The implementation attempts to be self-tuning on a wide variety of hardware and includes runtime validation testing. The tarball uses the GNU build mechanism and includes a devel sub-package, self test targets, init system options, and spec file samples for building an RPM. haveged may be used independently of the /dev/random interface through the filesystem at the command line. haveged functionality may be incorporated directly into other components directly through the devel sub-package.
Release Notes: A run time test option has been added to haveged that enables the execution of one or both of the principle AIS-31 test suites at haveged initialization and/or continuously during subsequent output. Several other changes have also been made to make haveged work better with both the systemd and sysv init systems.

GNU Coreutils are a set of basic file, shell, and text manipulation utilities for the GNU operating system that are expected to exist on every operating system. Previously, they were offered as three individual packages: fileutils, sh-utils, and textutils.
Release Notes: "split" and "truncate" now allow any seekable files in situations where the file size is needed, instead of insisting on regular files. "cp", "mv", "install", "cat", and "split" now read and write a minimum of 64KiB at a time, twice as much as before, to increase performance. A race condition in "cp" was fixed. The behavior of "id" and "groups" was made more consistent. "sort" now diagnoses certain errors much earlier. "split" no longer overwrites its input files. Various other bugs were fixed. "su" is no longer included in this package; it has completely moved to util-linux.

Release Notes: Enhancements were made to code features such as "use", which now explicitly enables feature bundles, a more consistent "eval" operator, and a revamped "substr" function. The "__SUB__" sequence now returns a reference to the current subroutine, allowing for recursive subroutines to be written more simply. Support for Unicode 6.1 was improved. Many other minor improvements and bugfixes, along with several deprecations, were made.

Ghostscript is a processor for PostScript and PDF files. It can rasterize these files to a wide variety of printers, devices for screen preview, and image file formats. Since applications tend to prepare pages for printing in a high-level format such as PostScript, most Unix users with low-level bitmap printers, such as inkjets, use GhostScript as part of the printing process. In addition, Ghostscript is capable of converting PostScript files, functionality comparable to Adobe Acrobat Distiller, but on the command line. In addition, Ghostscript is used for file import and viewing by a great many other applications, including xv, ImageMagick, gimp, and xdvi. Several GUI wrappers for viewing PostScript and PDF files exist, including GSview, ghostview, gv, ggv, and kghostview. This is far from a comprehensive list.
Release Notes: PDF/A-2 support was added to the pdfwrite output device. Suport was added to pdfwrite to be run in "server mode" and for the "%d" format in the OutputFile switch, for writing individual files. The output created by ps2write was modified to support the deficiencies in a range of recent PostScript devices. Support for large numbers of separations was improved for the tiffsep* devices, resolving "unencodable pixels" errors. The devices tiffsep, psdcmyk, and psdrgb gained "downscaler" support. Many other bugfixes, compatibility changes, and incremental improvements were made.
