The Parted Magic OS employs core programs from GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful programs including Partition Image, TestDisk, fdisk, sfdisk, dd, and ddrescue and an excellent set of documentation to benefit the user. An extensive collection of fileystem tools are also included, and the following filesystems are supported: ext2, ext3, ext4, FAT16, FAT32, HFS, HFS+, JFS, Linux-swap, NTFS, ReiserRS, reiser4, and XFS. It loads completely to system memory and requires at least 256MB of RAM to operate.

Release Notes: An LVM hang has bee fixed. Garbled Russian translation problem with Clonezilla have been fixed. NFSv4 support has been added for Clonezilla. A Truecrypt hang has been fixed. Roxterm 2.6.5 replaces lxterminal. A “cryptsetup luksOpen” bug has been fixed. LOG support has been added to the iptables kernel driver. HAL has been removed. You can now boot Parted Magic from Linux RAID partitions (/dev/md*). Device Mapper and LUKS Crypt should work in the next release.

Release Notes: This will be a core system (4.8 MB in size) for the 4MLinux 4.0 series. The system includes: Linux 3.4.2, glibc 2.14.90, and Busybox 1.20.1. All 4MLinux-4.0 applications have been compiled under Fedora 16 (x86/32-bit/SMP).

Release Notes: This release fixes a bug introduced in 1.1.4 that caused the output to be limited to a single page when using a <div> tag. It fixes a problem with some CSS properties that were inherited incorrectly. It adds support for the line-height attribute in <span> tags.

iText is a library that contains classes to generate and manipulate documents in the Portable Document Format (PDF). Document manipulation includes splitting, merging, and filling out forms (AcroForms, static and dynamic XFA forms).

Release Notes: Preparations are being made for better PDF/A support, and that's why all PDF/A-related code has been moved to a separate package. Image support is improved: invalid ICC profiles are now ignored, and more types of BMPs are available. This release corrects the position of visible signatures and fixes some minor bugs.

The sysstat package contains the sar, sadf, iostat, nfsiostat, cifsiostat, mpstat, and pidstat commands for Linux. The sar command collects and reports system activity information. The statistics reported by sar concern I/O transfer rates, paging activity, process-related activites, interrupts, network activity, memory and swap space utilization, CPU utilization, kernel activities, and TTY statistics, among others. The sadf command may be used to display data collected by sar in various formats. The iostat command reports CPU statistics and I/O statistics for tty devices and disks. The pidstat command reports statistics for Linux processes. The mpstat command reports global and per-processor statistics. The nfsiostat command reports I/O statistics for network filesystems. The cifsiostat command reports I/O statistics for CIFS filesystems.

Release Notes: Option -[0-9]+ has been added to sar to show the data of that many days ago. iostat and sar have persistent device names support. A new option (-t) has been added to sadf: This option tells sadf to display the timestamps in the local time of the data file creator instead of UTC.

task spooler is a Unix batch system where the tasks spooled run one after the other. The amount of jobs to run at once can be set at any time. Each user in each system has his own job queue. The tasks are run in the correct context (that of enqueue) from any shell/process, and its output/results can be easily watched. It is very useful when you know that your commands depend on a lot of RAM, a lot of disk use, give a lot of output, or for whatever reason it's better not to run them all at the same time, while you want to keep your resources busy for maximum benfit. Its interface allows using it easily in scripts.
