Ns is a discrete event simulator targeted at networking research. It provides substantial support for simulation of TCP, routing, and multicast protocols over wired and wireless (local and satellite) networks. It includes an optional network animator (nam).

Emergent is a neural network simulator with a built-in scripting language which allows for the creation and analysis of complex, sophisticated models of the brain in the world. Networks and all of their state variables are visually inspected in 3D, allowing quick "visual regression" of network dynamics and robot behavior. Emergent is a direct descendant of the PDP and PDP++ neural network packages.

DAPL (Direct Access Provider Library) is a transport-independent, platform-independent, high-performance API for using the remote direct memory access (RDMA) capabilities of modern interconnect technologies such as InfiniBand, the Virtual Interface Architecture, and iWARP. This is the reference implementation of that specification by the DAT Collaborative who maintain the DAPL API.

MP3DB2 is a collection of bash scripts for keeping track of large MP3 collections. It will retrieve song information from the filenames and ID3 tags of a directory or CD of MP3s and store them in a local database. It then allows you to search any of the fields, generate a master listing of all your complete albums, see the size of your entire collection, and more.
Release Notes: This release adds a handful of bugfixes which were required because of special characters in directories and filenames. The renlower script is now much better about removing these characters.
The OHRRPGCE (RPG Construction Engine) is a tool for making your own retro 2D RPG games, in a style similar to RPGs like the older Final Fantasy games for the NES, SNES, or GBA. It includes, as an example game, Fenrir-Lunaris's pixel-art masterpiece "Vikings of Midgard".

CUPS is a standards-based printing system for Mac OS X and other Unix-like operating systems. It provides the System V and Berkeley command line interfaces, and uses the Internet Printing Protocol ("IPP") as the basis for managing print jobs and queues. The Line Printer Daemon (LPD) Server Message Block (SMB), and AppSocket (a.k.a. JetDirect) protocols are also supported with reduced functionality. CUPS adds network printer browsing and PostScript Printer Description ("PPD") based printing options to support real world printing.

Burp is a program to backup and restore data. It uses librsync in order to save on the amount of space that is used by each backup. It also uses VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) to make snapshots when backing up Windows computers.

An exclude_regex option and a gentle shutdown server option have been added. librsync errors in phase4 are now non-fatal. This release checks for errors on gzclose() and fclose().
XML::LibXML provides a Perl interface to libxml2, providing XML and HTML parsers with DOM, SAX, and XMLReader interfaces, a large subset of the DOM Layer 3 interface, and an XML::XPath-like interface to the XPath API of libxml2
Release Notes: This release fixes CLANG warnings. It fixes tests and run-time errors when Hash::FieldHash is installed. Some spelling fixes. The scripts/tag-release.pl script has been added to tag a release. NodeList::item() is now 0-based (per the spec) instead of 1-based. There is a patch for a potential NULL dereference in xpath.c.
XML-Grammar-Fiction is a Perl package that provides processors for lightweight markup languages and corresponding XML grammars for writing prose (e.g. stories, novels, and novellas) as well as screenplays. The XML grammars can in turn be translated to XHTML and DocBook/XML. XML-Grammar-Fiction currently offers only very basic functionality, but has good support for UTF-8 and allows one to write bidirectional texts conveniently. It is still under development and may exhibit some quirks.
Release Notes: This release removes trailing spaces (with a test). It has been converted from using Moose to using Mouse, which makes startup time and run-time faster (the test suite runs over twice as fast). The link to the repository in the META.yml/META.json has been updated.
Pcompress is a utility to do compression and decompression in parallel by splitting input data into chunks. It has a modular structure and includes support for multiple algorithms like LZMA, Bzip2, PPMD, etc., with CRC64 chunk checksums. SSE optimizations for the bundled LZMA are included. It also implements chunk-level Content-Aware Deduplication and Delta Compression features based on a Semi-Rabin Fingerprinting scheme. It has low metadata overhead and overlaps I/O and compression to achieve maximum parallelism. It also bundles a simple slab allocator to speed repeated allocation of similar chunks. It can work in pipe mode, reading from stdin and writing to stdout. It also provides some adaptive compression modes in which multiple algorithms are tried per chunk to determine the best one for the given chunk.

pngcrush is an excellent batch-mode compression utility for PNG images. Depending on the application that created the original PNGs, it can improve the file size anywhere from a few percent to 40% or more (completely losslessly). The utility also allows specified PNG chunks (e.g. text comments) to be inserted or deleted, and it can fix incorrect gamma info written by Photoshop 5.0 as well as the erroneous iCCP chunk written by Photoshop 5.5.

Talend Open Studio for Data Quality helps you to profile your data. The ergonomic interface allows you to define metrics (indicators) and collect statistics on your data in a few clicks. It comes with a set of regular expressions that helps you to identify bad data. You can create your own regular expressions and use them in data profiling analyses. A lot of options exist for each indicator, which change the behavior of the indicator so that it gives you more pertinent information. Data quality options on indicators alert you when your data quality is not what you expected.

Keepalived for LVS aims to add a strong and robust keepalive facility to the Linux Virtual Server project. This project is written in C with multilayer TCP/IP stack checks. It implements a framework based on three family checks: Layer3, Layer4, and Layer5. This framework gives the daemon the ability of checking a LVS server pool states.When one of the servers in the LVS server pool is down, keepalived informs the Linux kernel via a setsockopt call to remove this server entry from the LVS topology. In addition, it implements a VRRPv2 stack to handle director failover.

FBReader is an e-book reader. It currently works on the Sharp Zaurus, Siemens Simpad with Opensimpad ROM, Nokia Internet Tablet (Maemo platform), Archos PMA430, Motorola E680i/A780/A1200 smartphones, PepperPad 3, Asus Eee PC, IRex iLiad, UMPC, and desktop computers running Linux, Windows XP/Vista, or FreeBSD. It supports several e-book formats: epub, plucker, palmdoc, zTXT, HTML, CHM, fb2, TCR (psion text), OEB, OpenReader, RTF, non-DRM'ed Mobipocket, and plain text.

Rpmrestore allows the user to show the differences (user, group, mode, mtime, size) between a package's status on install and its current status. This act as an improvement of the functionality provided by the "rpm -V" command. It also allows the user to restore the attributes to their original state (install state). It features a batch mode, an interactive mode, a logfile, and rollback.

amforth is an extendible command interpreter for the Atmel AVR ATmega microcontroller family. It has a turnkey feature for embedded use as well. It does not depend on a host application. The command language is an almost compatible ANS94 forth with extensions. It needs less than 8KB code memory for the base system. It is written in assembly language and forth itself.
Release Notes: This release introduces a new shell program to access the command prompt. It has command history, command completion with tab, and full access to all registers and bits by name without filling the dictionary on the controller. The library section is restructured and expanded. Some small bugs were fixed as well.
