gentoo is a file manager that uses the two-pane concept and is somewhat inspired by DOpus. It strives to be very configurable and lets you do all of the configuration from a GUI within the program itself. Filesystem access is done through the GIO virtual file system layer whenever possible. Using advanced file typing and styling systems, gentoo determines how to display files in its listings, and also how to act on them. The package includes a set of over 120 unique handcrafted icons for many different types of files.

Release Notes: This release improves UI flexibility so that gentoo now runs better if you configure it to not have any command buttons. It fixes a bug that prevented the Information window from successfully closing. It rewrites the core of the Move command to not compute the size before trying a rename, saving huge amounts of time for deep/complex directory moves on the same device.

Seed7 is a general purpose programming language. It is a higher level language compared to Ada, C++, and Java. In Seed7, new statements and operators can be declared easily. Functions with type results and type parameters are more elegant than a template or generics concept. Object orientation is used when it brings advantages and not in places when other solutions are more obvious. Although Seed7 contains several concepts of other programming languages, it is generally not considered as a direct descendant of any other programming language.

Release Notes: The example program "testfont.sd7" was improved to display more fonts and more characters. The library "vectorfont.s7i", which supports vector fonts, was added. The libraries "cronos16.s7i", "cronos27.s7i", and "vecfont18.s7i", which define the vector fonts cronos16, cronos27, and vecFont18, were added. A standard bitmap font with size 20 was defined in the new library "stdfont20.s7i". The pilcrow character was added to the standard bitmap fonts. Some characters in the standard bitmap fonts were improved. The function 'filInputReady' in "fil_unx.c" was improved to use poll() instead of select().

SportsTracker is an application for recording sporting activities. It is not bound to a specific kind of sport, as categories can be created for all sport types, such as cycling, running, or tennis. The main advantages are the good overview of your exercises and the easy creation of exercise statistics for specific time ranges and sport types. Users of heart rate monitors (Polar and CicloSport) can import, display (including diagrams), and organize the recorded exercise data.

Release Notes: The implementation has switched to Java 7, so all the new language features are in use now. All calendar entries can now be copied to the current date, so entering new entries is done much faster. The context menu for the entries is now available in all views. The GPX exercise parser has been greatly improved, it also supports Garmin Oregon and HOLUX FunTrek devices now. As always, this release also includes other minor changes, bugfixes, refactorings, and translation updates.

Cura is a mobile phone application bundle of remote server administration tools. It provides a personalized terminal emulator, a syslog module that allows for reading logs directly from a server, a SysMonitor module that visually graphs CPU and RAM usage percentages, access to Nmap, and Server Stats will offer general server information like its Vitals, Hardware information, Memory information, processes, and so on. A security feature allows you to have Cura's database wiped when you send the compromised phone a secret pattern of your choosing. (e.g. send an SMS message containing "phone has been stolen!" to your Android phone to wipe Cura's database and receive the location of the compromised phone as an SMS to your emergency phone number or as an e-mail to your emergency email address).

Release Notes: The security feature has been enhanced to include Phone messaging. When a user whose phone has been comprised sends an SMS message to said phone, Cura's database will be deleted and now, a message will be sent back to whatever number the user specified in Cura's settings, informing the user of the culprits location.

Tiny Core Linux is a very small (10 MB) minimal Linux desktop. It is based on the Linux 3.0 kernel, Busybox, Tiny X, and Fltk. The core runs entirely in RAM and boots very quickly. The user has complete control over which applications and/or additional hardware to have supported, be it for a desktop, a nettop, an appliance, or server, selectable from the online repository.

Release Notes: The major theme for Core v4.4 is a minor kernel update. Also new in this release is much improved searching for extensions via a new TAG field. Tag searching is supported in the GUIs Appbrowser and ScmBrowser, as well as the command line tools. 4.4 also features the ability to access embedded extensions when booting from a single ISO image file. This allows the use of various boot loaders such as YUMI.

H2 is an SQL database engine written in Java that implements the JDBC API. Embedded, server, and clustering modes are available. A browser based console application is included. The database has strong security features. Disk based and in-memory databases and tables are supported.

Release Notes: The CSV tool has been improved a bit. The update statement now supports limiting the number of rows changed. Compatibility with other databases (PostgreSQL and MySQL) has been improved a bit.

tinyHeb is a Web application for midwives in Germany to do the legal accounting with the health insurance companies. tinyHeb can produce paper and electronic bills, and meets the legal requirements of §301a, §302 SGB V, resp. tinyHeb is already certified by AOK Rheinland, AOK Bayern, and ARZ Emmendingen, which means that the midwife is allowed to send electronic billings to all AOK and the most BKK's in Germany after a very short testing (three bills). Paper bills can be sent for insurance companies that are not supported.

Release Notes: The edifact format for electronic billings is upgraded to version 7.0 of the data exchange specification between midwifes and health insurance companies. One major bugfix for certificates that were issued after Dec 08, 2011. Several minor bugfixes.

Anchor automatically adds curly braces and semicolons to code written in various programming languages, saving typing and making programs easier to read. It lets you pretend to be coding in Python or Lua while actually writing standard C, Java, PHP, C++, .NET, C#, or D. A script may generate files in the target language and invoke the compiler. An example bash script integrates with TCC to make runnable "scripts" with the speed of C. The scripts are easily modified to target another compiler or interpreter.

Release Notes: The documentation was updated with examples of executable C scripts using the new simplified syntax. The commands are now better explained and links to similar tools are included. The Java Algebra System (JAS) is an object oriented, type safe, multi-threaded approach to computer algebra. JAS provides a well designed software library using generic types for algebraic computations implemented in the Java programming language. The library can be used as any other Java software package, or it can be used interactively or interpreted through a Jython or JRuby front end. The focus at the moment is on commutative and solvable polynomials, power-series, multivariate polynomial factorization, Gröbner bases, and applications.

Release Notes: The Jython and JRuby scripting classes PolyRing are now injecting the polynomial ring variables into the top level interpreter environment by default. There is a new class GroebnerBaseFGLM to compute a Gröbner base according to the "FGLM" algorithm. It computes a Gröbner base with respect to a graded term order and then constructs the Gröbner base with respect to the requested term order via linear algebra in the residue class ring. ABG runs as a Google+ Hangout App or as a standalone PHP app. Unlike other gaming environments, this one has a peculiar vision: projecting the main board on our table and using laptops or tablets to control players' hands (with other friends joining in remotely). It supports flipping, stacking, rotating, rolling, and shuffling of pieces, so most board and card games are playable.

Release Notes: While the authors still prefer the speed of Google Chrome on Android, with a little bit of tweaking, this release works pretty well on the default Android browser (fixing an issue with piece and screen flashing). This release also adds a confirmation dialog to make sure you really want to clear the board.

The Shepherd Project is a software framework to support capture-mark-recapture (CMR) studies. CMR is a core technique used in the analysis and management of wildlife populations. The Shepherd Project promotes non-invasive "virtual tagging" mark-recapture techniques (e.g., photo-identification via natural coat/skin coloration instead of physical tags attached to animals) to protect both animals and researchers in population studies. The aim of the Shepherd Project is to aid researchers in obtaining and managing CMR data to better understand and manage animal populations. The Shepherd Project is most successfully used as a collaborative, public-facing Web site, allowing members of the research community to collaborate and analyze data "behind the scenes" (with login access) and allowing members of the public to collect data as "citizen scientists" and submit it through submission forms.

Release Notes: This release adds a speed factor option. This corrects the problem with decelerated audio which Google introduced a few days ago. There's been a major rewrite of the CLI application, which can now take as input text files, and write to wav files or play back to the user and change the generated speech speed rate. gpx2map reads a GPS track in GPX format (as produced by e.g. gpsbabel) and writes out a Google or OpenStreetMaps Mash-up containing the route. gpx2map can also show GPS-tagged photos along the map.

Release Notes: This release fixes OSM output to use the default layer instead of Osmarender, which seems to be discontinued. Users need to regenerate their OSM maps or make a manual change in the HTML file itself.
