mkvtoolnix is a set of tools that allow users to display information about, extract streams from, merge several streams into, and split Matroska media files. Supported video stream types include streams from AVIs, Ogg/OGM, RealVideo, MP4 files, and MPEG program streams as well as verious elementary streams (h264/AVC, MPEG1/2, VC1, Dirac). Supported audio formats include AAC, (E)AC3, DTS/DTS-HD, FLAC, MP2, MP3, RealAudio, and Vorbis. Several subtitle formats are supported, including SRT, SSA, ASS, VobSub, and many others.
Release Notes: mkvmerge and mkvextract use the same track IDs again. Performance on Linux has been improved for large files. MP4 files with chapters in unexpected character sets cause a proper error message. The MPEG program stream reader can handle tracks with huge gaps gracefully. LocDemo demonstrates the functionality of libwlocate. After startup, it evaluates the current geographic position of the user and displays it within a map. Tagger is an application that auto-tags audio files. It also supports batch tag editing. Features include file renaming, artwork editing, and tag manipulation.
Release Notes: Automatic updates are now supported using Sparkle. The program now scrolls to the specified row on keypress (like iTunes). Tabbing now goes the first cell of the next row upon reaching the end of a row of the table. Icons were provided for menu items. An about dialog and homepage link were included. A bug when comparing sort track number where the track number is missing was fixed.

RCSSmin is a CSS minifier. The implementation is based on the semantics of the YUI compressor, but aiming for speed instead of maximum compression so that it can be used at runtime rather than during a preprocessing step. rCSSmin does syntactical compression only (removing spaces, comments, and possibly semicolons). It does not provide semantic compression (like removing empty blocks, collapsing redundant properties etc). It does, however, support various CSS hacks (by keeping them working as intended).

PHPLOT is a PHP graphics class for creating charts and plots. It works with PHP5 (but older versions can use PHP4). PHPlot uses the PHP GD extension to produce PNG, GIF, or JPEG images. TrueType fonts (TTF) are optional, or built-in GD fonts can be used. The available plot types are: area, bars, line/points, lines, pie, points, squared, stacked-bars, and thin bar-line. Labels, tick marks, plot legend, X/Y axes, and more are all configurable. Images can be imported as a background, multiple graphs can be drawn on one image, and images can be saved to disk or returned to a browser.

vitunes is a curses-based music player and playlist manager whose goals are a minimalistic appearance, strong vi-like bindings, and quick playlist creation/management. It does not strive to be a full-blown media player, but rather a full-blown media indexer and playlist manager. It uses MPlayer to support a wide range of media formats. It also makes use of TagLib for metadata extraction from many common formats.

HylaFAX is a fax and paging system for Unix. It supports sending facsimile, receiving facsimile, polled retrieval of facsimile, transparent shared data use of the modem and sending alpha-numeric pages. The software is structured around a client-server architecture. Fax modems may reside on a single machine on a network and clients can submit outbound jobs from any machine that can communicate with the machine on which the modems reside. An access control mechanism is included to control which users on which machines may access a server.

MeTA1 is a modularized message transfer agent (MTA) consisting of five (or more) persistent processes, four of which are multi-threaded. A queue manager controls SMTP servers and SMTP clients to receive and send email messages, an address resolver provides lookups in various maps (including DNS) for mail routing, and a main control program starts the other processes and watches over their execution. The queue manager organizes the flow of messages through the system and provides measures to avoid overloading the local or remote systems by implementing a central control instance. It is simple to configure using a C-like syntax and is secure and efficient.
