Speech synthesis for asterisk is an Asterisk AGI script that uses Google Translate to convert text to speech and play it back to the user. It supports a variety of different languages, local caching of voice data, and a choice between 8 kHz or 16 kHz sample rates to provide the best possible sound quality along with the use of wideband codecs.

Release Notes: This release removes the wait for user input after the end of playback. It is now advised to use Waitexten() in IVR menus to get that behavior. Dialplan examples in the README have been updated accordingly (existing users must update their dialplan code). This release replaces the POSIX character class [:punct:] in text splitting regural expressions. This fixes a misbehavior with some Unicode strings. A sample CLI app that does speech synthesis has been added.

Matrex is a lightweight vectorial spreadsheet. It calculates blocks of values, not single cells. It is strongly multi-threaded. Users can work together on sheets using a server. It has adapters to MATLAB, Scilab, Octave, and R.

Release Notes: This release adds 42 new functions in the standard package, including: sys.db.update, which inserts/updates data in a database; and sys.util.convertunit, which converts numbers among different units. It has an improved template editor (class selection) and some bugfixes. It needs Java 6 (JRE 1.6) to run.

FileMonitor monitors the activity of open and closed files/processes in ‘real time’ using lsof, returning them in a list.

Release Notes: The main feature of this release is the “Filter” that replaces the old “Search” functionality. Now it is possible to display rows that have a specific text value (or part of it) in one or more of their columns. Another change in this release is the improvement of performance and a better response of the application when it is running.

jOOX stands for Java Object Oriented XML. It is a simple wrapper for the org.w3c.dom package to allow for fluent XML document creation and manipulation where DOM is required but too verbose. jOOX only wraps the underlying document and can be used to enhance DOM, not as an alternative. It is inspired by jOOQ and jQuery.

Release Notes: This release adds several new $() methods as well as support for JAXB marshalling / unmarshalling.

JayOS is a live CD Linux distribution intended for use as a more secure mobile environment. It uses GNU makefiles and Bash shell scripts to automate the building of a complete Linux distribution from source. The result is a turnkey solution for creating a compact, highly-customizable OS. JayOS includes many standard network security and filesystem tools, a full-blown development environment, and many programming tools and libraries including GCC, GDB, DDD, Perl, GTK+, Tcl/Tk, PHP, Ruby, Python, Qt, and Glade. It runs well on commodity hardware, and can be configured to run entirely from memory. In-RAM filesystem encryption with plausible deniability provides a more secure mobile workstation. It is based on Linux From Scratch.

Release Notes: This release creates a new repository on github. It upgrades glib2 and friends to compile the latest versions of SeaMonkey/Firefox. It upgrades core Gnome libraries and associated programs. It adds gst-ffmpeg for totem plugin support of MP4. New programs include Balsa, Celestia, and Virtualbricks, with the video editors Avidemux, Cinelerra, and Openshot.

Release Notes: @Bean can now be defined inside @Component's (a la @Configuration). Event listeners are now discovered in JIT way. There is some annotations code cleanup. The file cache will now clear the stat cache for the given file when trying to make a fetch.

Overthere is a Java library to manipulate files and execute processes on remote hosts, i.e. do stuff "over there". It was built for and is used in the XebiaLabs deployment automation product Deployit as a way to perform tasks on remote hosts, e.g. copy configuration files, install EAR files, or restart Web servers. Another way of looking at it is to say that Overthere gives you java.io.File and java.lang.Process as they should have been: as interfaces, created by a factory and extensible through an SPI mechanism.

VTAGS is a command line application that will generate a VI(M) compatible tags file for VHDL source files. This application will read standard VHDL'87 files. It should also parse later VHDL, but it only takes account of the basic parts of the language. It will group items that it finds by architecture, procedure, function, or package. It does this by adding extra information to the extension field of the tags file.
