Strategico is an engine for running statistical analysis over groups of time series. It can manage one or more groups (projects) of time series: by default, you can get data from a database or CSV files, normalize them, and then save them inside the engine. The first statistical analysis implemented inside Strategico is the "Long Term Prediction": it automatically finds the best model that fits each time series. Some of the models implemented are mean, trend, linear, exponential smoothing, and Arima. Strategico is scalable: the statistical analysis over each time series (of a project) can be run separately and independently. It is suggested that you set up an HPC Cluster (High Performance Computing) and/or use a resource scheduler like slurm. It is developed with R, one of the most famous statistical languages.

libextractor is a library used to extract meta-data from files of arbitrary type. It is designed to use helper-libraries to perform the actual extraction, and to be trivially extendable by linking against external extractors for additional file types. The goal is to provide developers of file-sharing networks, file managers, and WWW-indexing bots with a universal library to obtain meta-data about files. It includes a shell-command and bindings for Java (JNI) and Python.
Release Notes: Major changes to the plugin mechanism now allow out-of-process plugins full random access to the entire file. Most plugins have been rewritten to the new plugin API. The external (libextractor) API remains unchanged and compatible with 0.6. As part of the rewrite, many plugins were changed to use standard 3rd party libraries (libjpeg, libtiff, libgif, libtidy, and libmagic) for parsing. A new plugin based on gstreamer replaces many existing multimedia plugins. Automated test cases for (almost all) of the plugins were also written, and the documentation was updated.

Zero Install is a decentralized cross-distribution software installation system. It allows software developers to publish programs directly from their own Web sites, while supporting features familiar from centralized distribution repositories such as shared libraries, automatic updates, and digital signatures. It is intended to complement, rather than replace, the operating system's package management. 0install packages never interfere with those provided by the distribution.
Release Notes: Support was added for OS-specific dependencies (e.g. for dependencies only needed on Windows) and for constraints in native package implementations (e.g. Debian's python3-gi package cannot be used with Python 2). "0install man" allows the man command to work with 0install applications. "0install digest" now has an option to display the manifest. A bug in the PackageKit support which meant it sometimes failed to detect candidate packages was fixed.
Xdgmenumaker is a command line tool that generates application menus using xdg information by scanning *.desktop files in all $XDG_DATA_DIRS/applications directories. All applications are sorted according to the main categories as specified by freedesktop.org. Generated menu entries are localised according to the current user locale settings. It currently supports generation of menus for Fluxbox, IceWM, and WindowMaker. Icons from the current GTK+ icon theme can be included in the menus, when they are supported by the output format.
Release Notes: Menus are now always created in a submenu, unless the new --no-submenu option is used (applicable to fluxbox and icewm menus).
slkbuild is a script inspired by makepkg from Arch that greatly simplifies the package building process in Slackware and derivatives. It parses an easy-to-create SLKBUILD meta-file and from that creates a conventional build script that follows all of the Slackware packaging standards and that can be run on its own. The advantage of using slkbuild is that it ensures package uniformity and allows for an easy-to-edit meta-file in the event that one might require customization or might need to update the script for new releases. It also makes the build process much quicker, since it takes care of downloading the source, untarring, gzipping man and info pages, stripping binaries, making sure that the menu entry for a graphical application is compliant, as well as a host of other things.
Release Notes: SLKBUILD templates were added for software that uses gconf or mateconf. URLs are modified if they contain an "=" symbol. Partially downloaded files are removed if the download has failed.

Release Notes: phrasor now continues playing on the microtonal keyboard when the instrument is keyboard-keyboard.
Armadillo is a C++ linear algebra library (matrix maths) aiming towards a good balance between speed and ease of use. Integer, floating point, and complex numbers are supported, as well as a subset of trigonometric and statistics functions. Various matrix decompositions are provided through optional integration with LAPACK and ATLAS libraries. A delayed evaluation approach, based on template meta-programming, is used (during compile time) to combine several operations into one and reduce or eliminate the need for temporaries.
Release Notes: This release contains fixes for handling sparse submatrix views. It also has minor speedups for sparse matrices.
Bio::SeqReader provides a lightweight alternative to Bioperl when all you really need is a helper for reading sequence data. The Bio::SeqReader::Fastq class correctly handles FASTQ input with multiline sequence or quality data.
