uimaFIT provides Java annotations for describing UIMA components which can be used to directly describe the UIMA components in Java code without the need for traditional UIMA XML descriptors. This greatly simplifies refactoring a component definition (e.g., changing a configuration parameter name). uimaFIT also makes it easy to instantiate UIMA components without using XML descriptor files by providing convenient factory methods. This makes uimaFIT an ideal library for testing UIMA components because the component can be easily instantiated and invoked without requiring a descriptor file to be created first. uimaFIT is very useful in research environments in which programmatic/dynamic instantiation of UIMA pipelines can simplify experimentation. For example, when performing 10-fold cross-validation across a number of experimental conditions, it can be quite laborious to create a different set of descriptor files for each run, or even a script which generates such descriptor files. uimaFIT is type system agnostic and does not depend on (or provide) a specific type system. This project has been superseded by the Apache uimaFIT project.
Release Notes: External resources can now be properly injected into other external resources. This might seem a simple change, but it opens up a whole new world of possibilities. SimplePipeline internally uses an AggregateAnalysisEngine instead of a simple "for" loop.

Cairo is a vector graphics library with cross-device output support. It currently supports the X Window System and in-memory image buffers as output targets. It is designed to produce identical output on all output media while taking advantage of display hardware acceleration when available (eg. through the X Render Extension). It provides a stateful user-level API with capabilities similar to the PDF 1.4 imaging model and provides operations including stroking and filling Bezier cubic splines, transforming and compositing translucent images, and antialiased text rendering.
Release Notes: Support for mesh gradients has been implemented. A new callback API has been added to allow applications to provide the pixel data for the region of interest at the time of rendering. Common APIs have been added to address any surface as an image and so allow direct modification of the raster data. The new backend cario-ucb has been added for X11 using XCB. Many performance issues have been addressed, including an overhaul of the rasteriation pipeline. Antialias hints have been added, and are interpolated by the raserisers to fine-tune their performance versus quality. The OpenGL backend has been enhanced.
Automatic Drawing Generation is GObject-based library that provides a non-interactive Cairo canvas specifically designed for generating technical drawings.
Release Notes: The ADG Lua bindings, based on lgob, are now available as a separate project (adg-lua). The glue code is automatically generated using GObject introspection. The build system can detect and use GTK+3, if found. GTK+2 is still available, and can be forced at configure time. The rendering of AdgRDim has been enhanced: When the "outside" property is enabled, the leader line will extend beyond the arc to quote for a styleable distance, and the marker will be reversed. The text frontend is selected at configure time. When pango is available, it will be preferred over the cairo toy API.
Many project are mirrored worldwide. Mirmon helps in monitoring these mirrors. In a concise graphic format, mirmon shows each site's history of the last two weeks, making it easy to spot stale or dead mirrors. Mirmon quietly probes a subset of the sites in a given list, writes the results in the "state" file, and generates a Web page with the results. The package includes a Perl module called Mirmon.pm; this makes it easy to write applications related to mirmon.
Release Notes: This release adds minor enhancments.
