Release Notes: Support was added for using ACCT in FileTransferClient. FTPFile.getPath() no longer includes the filename. A bug was fixed in MLST parser. An empty array of features is returned if FEAT returns no features (but is implemented by the server). The array is tweaked so that only actual features are returned.
The Objeck computer language is an object-oriented computing language with functional features that has ties with Java, C#, and Pascal. In this language, all data types are treated as objects. The language consists of a compiler and VM with an accompanying memory management and JIT compiler.
Release Notes: This minor release includes performance enhancements to the String and collection classes. A “Copy” function was added to the “Runtime” class. This function allows blocks of memory to be quickly copied from one array to another. The “Vector” classes were optimized such that operations dealing with 1M+ elements are over 90% faster. “String” class operations were optimized by levering the new memory copying APIs. Additional performance improvements were made to the collection classes.
queXF (pronounced kweks-eff) takes scanned paper forms generated using queXML and reads them. Operators can then verify that queXF has read the form correctly. Once this is done, the data collected can be exported in a fixed width ASCII file with a DDI data description. queXF can be used as an alternative to programs such as Cardiff Teleform and Remark OMR, in some situations. It removes the need to manually enter form data, therefore reducing error and fatigue. It does OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) on each form to determine if boxes have been filled, and can use ICR (Intelligent Character Recognition) to determine what characters have been entered into boxes.
Release Notes: The major new feature of this version is that page setup is now on a form by form basis (instead of system wide). This means that you can safely use forms with different sizes of paper or with corner lines in different places without having to juggle system settings or editing the configuration file. All form specific changes are stored in the database. Also, a bug where verification failed where there was an additional barcode to verify has been fixed.
fsperms is a simple tool that allows permissions and ownership to be set to files or entire filesystems based on security templates. It is mostly useful for ensuring a sane state after source or package installations whose authors have different priorities or needs than yours.
Release Notes: Minor documentation changes were made. The Makefiles were reworked for robustness and portability.
The Flight Gear Flight Simulator project is a free, open-source, multi-platform, cooperative flight sim development project. Source code for the entire project is available and licensed under the GPL. The GNU Debugger (GDB) is a source-level debugger for C, C++, Java, Modula-2, and several other languages. It runs on GNU/Linux, the BSD's, and almost every major proprietary OS. GDB can debug programs running on the same machine as itself, or it can communicate over a network or serial line with a debugging stub on another machine; thus, it can be used for embedded and kernel debugging.
Release Notes: GDB now understands thread names. The commands "thread name" (to assign a name) and "thread find [REGEXP]" (matching name, target ID, or extra information) were added. Python scripting support was vastly enhanced. In C++ support, exception handling was improved, and template parameters are now put in scope when debugging in an instantiation. Thread debugging of core dumps on GNU/Linux is now possible. Initial support for the OpenCL C language was introduced. Many other enhancements were made.
Unicorn is a Unix and LAN/localhost-optimized fork of the Mongrel HTTP server. It takes full advantage of functionality exclusive to Unix-like operating systems. It will reap and restart workers that die from broken apps, and there is no need to manage multiple processes yourself. Load balancing is done entirely by the operating system kernel. Requests never pile up behind a busy worker. The server does not care if your application is thread-safe or not, as workers all run within their own isolated address space and only serve one client at a time. All Rack applications are supported along with pre-Rack versions of Ruby on Rails via a Rack wrapper. It also supports atomic log cycling, nginx-style binary re-execution without losing connections, before_fork and after_fork hooks, and optional copy-on-write-friendly memory management.
Release Notes: The last-resort timeout mechanism was inaccurate and often delayed in activation since the 2.0.0 release. This has been fixed and remains power-efficient in idle situations, especially with the wakeup reduction in MRI 1.9.3+.
Stendhal is a multiplayer online adventure game (MMORPG) developed using the Arianne game development system. It features a rich and expanding world in which you can explore towns, buildings, plains, caves, and dungeons. New parameters have been added to report files: error code, HTTP code, local filename, and MIME-type filename. The creation of static and dynamic libraries has been added. The Mulk license has been changed to LGPL, in order to lead to wider use of libmulk. Several bugs were fixed.
ftp4j is a Java library that implements a full-featured FTP client. With ftp4j embedded in your application, you can transfer files (upload and download), browse the remote FTP site (directory listing included), and create, delete, rename, and move remote directories and files.
Release Notes: The "502 Command REST not allowed by policy" and "501 REST not compatible with server configuration" responses to the "REST 0" command are no longer treated as errors. This extends the library compatibility to a greater number of server types. Each SIZE command is now preceded by a TYPE I command, extending the library compatibility. Several enhancements have been applied in the remote file list routine. Finally, a timezone issue has been solved in UnixListParser and NetWareListParser.
sleepworker is a daemon that monitors your Unix machine for idle time. With the help of this daemon, you can execute commands or programs during idle time.
