gentoo is a file manager that uses the two-pane concept and is somewhat inspired by DOpus. It strives to be very configurable and lets you do all of the configuration from a GUI within the program itself. Filesystem access is done through the GIO virtual file system layer whenever possible. Using advanced file typing and styling systems, gentoo determines how to display files in its listings, and also how to act on them. The package includes a set of over 120 unique handcrafted icons for many different types of files.

Release Notes: The Rename command now optionally pre-selects parts of the filename, which is handy for preventing changing of the extension. The Spanish and Catalan translations were updated. Better default action handling was implemented, so that Return dismisses the dialog. The Information window now remembers size and position. The location and names of configuration files was changed for less filesystem littering.

miniircd is a small and limited IRC server written in Python. Despite its size, it is a functional alternative to a full-blown ircd for private or internal use. Installation is simple; no configuration is required.

Release Notes: Optional logging of channel messages and a debug option were added. A 251 welcome message is now sent and AWAY messages are ignored for compatibility with Pidgin's IRC plugin. The code has been cleaned up.

crXml is an all-in-one, easy-to-use XML parser, generator, and editor created using PHP's DOM XML functions. The functionality of this class is similar to simpleXML. It differs from simpleXML in the way in which namespaced nodes are addressed. In simpleXML, namespaced nodes cannot be addressed directly. In this class, a namespaced node can be addressed directly as $crxmlObject->{'prefix:nodeName'}. It can also generate PHP code to access any of the nodes. It can also generate or manipulate any type of XML document. Please check the live demo so that you can try the class without downloading anything.

Release Notes: A bug in the toString method which caused it to return an empty string if there were XML comments inside the node was fixed.

Dnsmasq is a lightweight, easy to configure DNS forwarder and DHCP server. It is designed to provide DNS and (optionally) DHCP to a small network. It can serve the names of local machines which are not in the global DNS. The DHCP server integrates with the DNS server and allows machines with DHCP-allocated addresses to appear in the DNS with names configured either in each host or in a central configuration file. Dnsmasq supports static and dynamic DHCP leases and BOOTP/TFTP for network booting of diskless machines.

Release Notes: The usual mix of bugfixes and feature enhancements. There are fixes for a couple of nasty TFTP bugs, so TFTP users should upgrade. Notable amongst the enhancements is support for Linux conntrack. Dnsmasq can now copy conntrack marks from incoming DNS queries to the upstream connections used to answer them. This feature could be useful for bandwidth accounting, captive portals, and the like. A similar feature has been implemented in Squid 2.2. There are also fixes for large (thousands of leases) DHCP systems and DHCP via relay.
