Release Notes: This release has support for automatic setting of the preferred email application on GNOME 3 distributions. The Web10G project (a follow-on from Web100) was created to produce a complete host-software environment that will run common TCP applications at 100% of the available bandwidth, regardless of the magnitude of a network's capability. Web10G has endowed TCP with better instrumentation. This instrumentation is the foundation for both the TCP autotuning performed in process-level code and the process-level tools designed to locate bottlenecks within the following major subsystems: the sending application, the sending OS, the Internet path, the receiving OS, and the receiving application. Measurement tools have also been built on this instrumentation to display performance indicators to end-users, as well as provide internal diagnostics for network and system administrators.

Release Notes: The project was updated to support the Linux 3.0 kernel.

BACnet is an implementation of the BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) protocol specifically tailored for embedded systems. BACnet itself is a standard routable protocol designed to handle communications in automation in buildings, such as air conditioning systems and other HVAC equipment.

SourceAFIS is a fingerprint recognition/matching SDK (library), or more generally an Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). It essentially compares two fingerprints and decides whether they belong to the same person. It can quickly search a large database of registered fingerprints. It comes with an easy-to-use API (pure .NET and Java) plus assorted applications and tools.

Release Notes: An experimental pure Java matcher. Minor tweaks in accuracy, speed, and the API.

PdfMasher is a tool to convert PDF files containing text into a ready-for-ebook set of HTML files. Most ebook readers support PDF files natively, but it's often a real pain to read those documents because you can't control the font size of the document and have to resort to the zooming feature instead. Another drawback of PDFs on ebook readers is that annotations are not supported. Unlike other tools that convert PDFs to ebooks, PdfMasher does not try to guess the role of each piece of text in the PDF, and instead asks the user about the role of each piece of text, and does so in an efficient manner.

Release Notes: This release fixes bugs preventing some PDFs from being read. It fixes a crash on clicking the page view, a crash in ebook generation, and a bug causing the first character(s) of each line to be removed when reading a PDF.

MP4-SA is a standard for normative algorithmic sound, which combines an audio signal processing language (SAOL) with score languages (MIDI and SASL). Under Mac OS X and Linux, sfront supports real-time, low-latency audio input/output and MIDI input. Under Mac OS X, sfront supports the creation of AudioUnit plug-ins. The documentation includes a book about SAOL programming.
