Download Website 22 Apr 22:28 Vocab Builder 0.9.20

Screenshot

Vocab Builder is a collection of two separate programs. The client is the testing application that uses a drill-style method of building your vocabulary in a foreign language, similar to using flash-cards. The editor allows you to create a new, or modify an existing, database for your own personal use. Since the design of the project allows a user to create their own databases/tests, they can not only focus on the words they want/need to learn, but also are not restricted by availability of choice. No more are you restricted by only the databases available to you. Many language teaching applications only allow you to learn the languages they've supplied you. Most North American-based programs cater to English speaking users and only give you a selection of other languages to choose from. Not only can Vocab Builder use any language combination of Native and Secondary languages but it's also open-ended. You can share your tests with others. You can expand the database of words in any direction you want. Word lists are meant to be broken down into categories like colors, sizes, numbers, etc.

Release Notes: Beta (testing) release.

Download Website 22 Apr 22:13 Tonatiuh 1.2.0

Screenshot

The Tonatiuh project aims to create an accurate and easy to use Monte Carlo ray tracer for the optical simulation of solar concentrating systems. Some of design goals are to facilitate the optical simulation of almost any type of solar concentrating system, to exhibit a clean and flexible software architecture that will allow the user to adapt, expand, increase, and modify its functionality with ease, to achieve operating system independence, and to leverage on the use of other well-established state-of-the-art open source libraries, and tools.

Release Notes: This is a relatively major release. It changes the way the surface from which primary rays are cast into the concentrating system is defined, and the way in which the intersection of a ray with a surface is stored, thus changing the structure of the photon map's records. Caution: it is incompatible with previous versions of the program.

Download Website 22 Apr 22:12 pgmp 1.0b3

Screenshot

pgmp is a PostgreSQL extension module that adds support for the arbitrary precision data types offered by the GMP library. It provides higher performance arithmetic for numbers, only limited by the 1GB varlena maximum size, a rational data type for absolute precision storage and arithmetic, and specialized functions to deal with prime numbers, random numbers, and factorization. The GMP data types can be used in mixed arithmetic with other PostgreSQL numeric types and indexed using the btree or hash methods. The extension is compatible with PostgreSQL 8.4 and later, and the package includes comprehensive documentation and regression tests.

Release Notes: This release adds support for GMP 4.1 and 4.2. It adds metadata required to publish the extension on PGXN (http://pgxn.org/dist/pgmp/).

Download Website 22 Apr 22:10 GNU Parallel 20110411

Screenshot

GNU parallel is a shell tool for executing jobs in parallel locally or using remote computers. A job is typically a single command or a small script that has to be run for each of the lines in the input. The typical input is a list of files, a list of hosts, a list of users, a list of URLs, or a list of tables. If you use xargs today you will find GNU parallel very easy to use, as GNU parallel is written to have the same options as xargs. If you write loops in shell, you will find GNU parallel may be able to replace most of the loops and make them run faster by running several jobs in parallel. GNU parallel makes sure output from the commands is the same output as you would get had you run the commands sequentially. This makes it possible to use output from GNU parallel as input for other programs.

Release Notes: {#} now works an alias for $PARALLEL_PID. --eta now estimates far more accurately. CPU detection code for AIX. --joblog contains the exit code.

Some more variables in patch(1) are now off_t for large file support.

Download Website 22 Apr 21:46 pacparser 1.2.9

Screenshot

pacparser is a library to parse proxy auto-config (PAC) files. Proxy auto-config files are a vastly used proxy configuration method these days. Web browsers can use a PAC file to determine which proxy server to use or whether to go direct for a given URL. The idea behind pacparser is to make it easy to add PAC file parsing capability to any program (C and Python are supported right now). It comes as a shared C library and a Python module that can be used to make any C or Python program PAC scripts intelligent. Some very useful targets could be popular Web software like wget, curl, and python-urllib.

Release Notes: This release adds a feature to pacparser to allow working with the proxy auto-config (PAC) script directly (in string form) instead of requiring it to be in a file. This release also adds a feature to pactester to read pac files from stdin directly, which will allow users to "pipe" pac files to pactester directly from the other programs like curl. This release also has some build fixes to make pacparser build on non-Linux GNU systems like kFreeBSD and GNU Hurd.

Download Website 22 Apr 11:14 Long Range ZIP 0.603

Screenshot

LRZIP is a compression program and library that can achieve very high compression ratios and speed when used with large files using unlimited sized compression windows. It uses the combined compression algorithms of zpaq and lzma for maximum compression, lzo for maximum speed, and the long range redundancy reduction of rzip. It is designed to scale with increases with RAM size, improving compression further. A choice of either size or speed optimizations allows for either better compression than even lzma can provide, or better speed than gzip, but with bzip2 sized compression levels. It also has high grade password protected encryption and full STDIN/STDOUT support.

Release Notes: lrzip now detects when output is being redirected without a filename and will automatically output to stdout. Apple builds, which had errors on compressing files larger than 2GB in size, were fixed. lrztar now properly supports -o, -O, and -S. The lrzip configuration file now supports encryption. lrzip will now warn if it's inappropriately passed a directory as an argument directly.

Download No website 22 Apr 06:11 libjc 2.1.3

Screenshot

libjc is a framework for event-driven development in C. Programs that use it can perform an arbitrary number of operations simultaneously and in the background, and later wait for some or all of them to complete. The source package includes the core library along with a few objects, each of which is able to perform a set of related operations. This framework consumes significantly less memory than standard libraries, and it scales well to multiprocessor systems.

Release Notes: The llpoll library was re-implemented, and a document was added to describe its usage. The number of scheduler threads can now be set at runtime with a configuration parameter. The X11 client now uses a fixed-size buffer to read server messages. The size of this buffer can be configured at runtime as well. MAPPING_NOTIFY events are now sent to all windows that were registered with jc_x11_window_add(). All X11 core protocol constants are now defined in proto/x11.h. A document was added on the X11 client. Bugs were also fixed and several functions were added to some of the libraries.

Download Website 22 Apr 06:09 ConMan 0.2.7

Its features include logging (and optionally timestamping) console device output to file, connecting to consoles in monitor (R/O) or interactive (R/W) mode, allowing clients to share or steal console write privileges, and broadcasting client output to multiple consoles.

Release Notes: Concurrency bugs were fixed in IPMI SOL connections. Support was added for IPMI SOL cipher suite IDs, privilege levels, and workaround flags. Support was added for disabling fcntl locks on console log files. Note that configuring "--with-freeipmi" now requires freeipmi-1.0.4 or later.
