4MLinux is a miniature Linux distribution focusing on four capabilities: maintenance (by using it as a system rescue live CD), multimedia (for example, for playing video DVDs), miniserver (using the inetd daemon), and mystery (meaning console games).

Release Notes: This release includes all the applications that are present in 4MLinux-3.1 and 4MLinux-3.1-rescue-edition. Wine 1.2.3 has also been added. Both Wine and Java (JRE 1.6.0_26) are used by 4MLinux scripts to download and run various X applications (so-called extensions).

Metacza is a language and its compiler which produces output in the C++ Meta Template Language. Its concise syntax makes Meta Template Programming much easier. Metacza allows you to write programs using boost::mpl, and to produce C++ header files that can be used on their own. Programming without boost::mpl is also supported. Metacza is a higher order language with closures, let, and lambda.

Release Notes: A bug was fixed to generate a file previously missing but needed for installation. This prevented fresh installations from working.

V6 Thompson Shell Port provides two ports of the original /bin/sh from Sixth Edition (V6) UNIX (circa 1975). osh is an enhanced port of the shell, and sh6 is an unenhanced port of the shell. This project also includes glob6, if, goto, and fd2 as external shell utilities. While they remain external for compatible use by sh6, these utilities are integrated into osh to improve shell performance.

Release Notes: This release adds useful build system info from 'uname -srm' to the built binaries. It updates the included example osh dot files for the sake of simplicity. It also adds handy new 'v' and 'version' aliases.

F*EX (Frams' Fast File EXchange) is a Web based service for sending very big files from one person to another. The sender uploads the file to the F*EX server and the recipient automatically gets a notification email with a download URL. Files are automatically deleted after download or an expiration date. The recipient and sender only need an email program and a Web browser. Sending to multiple recipients needs storage on the server only once. In contrast with other file transfer services, it has no file size limits at all and comes with shell tools for scripting up/downloading.

Release Notes: Support for Firefox 7 (and later) has been added to upload files greater than 4 GB. A registered user can create a one time upload key (URL), which he can give unregistered users. The admin can forbid certain recipient addresses and restrict uploading or downloading to certain hosts. The user or admin can limit bandwidth usage. The GUI client schwuppdiwupp comes with integrated tar, zip, and 7zip support. Italian and Czech localizations have been added. Once again, several small bugs have been fixed.
