listparser is a Python library that parses subscription lists (also called reading lists) and returns all of the feeds, subscription lists, and "opportunity" URLs that it finds. It supports OPML, RDF+FOAF, and the iGoogle exported settings format.
Release Notes: listparser will now automatically be converted by the 2to3 tool if it's being installed in a Python 3 environment. Simply run `python3 setup.py install`. Additionally, listparser is actively tested on Python 3.2.
defragmenter is a braindead filesystem agnostic defrag script that rewrites files. Running it in a directory causes all files and subdirectories to be reordered. It will only affect one partition and works best when run twice.
Release Notes: This release added a list of the files which are fragmented. Better error messages are shown if you accidentally run the script with files already exist in the current directory that the script wants to use as temporary files.
Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. It also enables software developers to create new communication tools with built-in privacy features. It provides the foundation for a range of applications that allow organizations and individuals to share information over public networks without compromising their privacy. Individuals can use it to keep remote Websites from tracking them and their family members. They can also use it to connect to resources such as news sites or instant messaging services that are blocked by their local Internet service providers (ISPs).
Release Notes: This release fixes a critical heap overflow security issue in Tor's buffers code. Absolutely everybody should upgrade. The bug relied on an incorrect calculation when making data continuous in one of the IO buffers, if the first chunk of the buffer was misaligned by just the wrong amount. The miscalculation would allow an attacker to overflow a piece of heap-allocated memory.
Snort is a network intrusion detection and prevention system. It is the most widely deployed technology of its kind in the world. It performs detection using a variety of methods including rules-based detection, anomaly detection, and heuristic analysis of network traffic. Its rules language is open source and available to the public as well.
XWiki is a WikiWiki clone written in Java that supports many popular features of other Wikis like the Wiki syntax, version control, attachments, security, and searching, but also many advanced features like templates, database and dynamic development using scripting languages (Velocity, Groovy, Ruby, Python, PHP, and more), an extension system and skinability, J2EE scalability, an XML/RPC remote API, statistics, RSS feeds, PDF exporting, WYSIWYG editing, an Office viewer and importer, and a lot more.
Release Notes: This release delivers the first usable but experimental versions of App Within Minutes and Extension Manager features. It also adds an automatic external link checker, better support for exporting CJK documents as PDF, LDAP user membership improvements, attachment handling improvements, and Debian packages.
QuakeForge is a 3D graphics game engine based on id Software's legendary Quake® and QuakeWorld® game engines.
Release Notes: Improved compatibility with other clients, minor OpenGL startup fixes, and an __INFINITY__ constant for Ruamoko.
Rho is a small, very powerful console-based POSIX text editor and mini-IDE with Bash/Emacs key bindings. A configuration file allows the user to create macros using not only any internal function but anything available to a shell command. Keyboard macros (Ctl-Alt-A through Z) can be sourced into the editor for each kind of task, the next sourcing overwriting the last. Rho also allows an unlimited number of templates (sh, awk, python, etc.) to be injected into executable buffers which trap stdout and stderr.
Release Notes: A general template solution and a general macro solution were included. The pairing of create-script and execute-script allows users to create templates which are injected into buffers which can be executed, trapping stderr and stdout. The source function allow keyboard macros to be installed for each kind of task, the next sourcing overwriting the last.
CppHibernate is a thin layer to let users use Java Hibernate in C++ with the same configuration files, such as hibernate.cfg.xml and XXX.hbm.xml. It calls Java Hibernate internally through JNI, the Java Native Interface, and can take full advantage of Java Hibernate in C++.
Release Notes: A couple of bugs were fixed in CppHibernateAccessor::toString() and CppHibernateStatistics::getSecondLevelCacheStatistics(). The README was updated with details of the support for the JPA annotation addition to XXX.hbm.xml files.
Kevux is an operating system based mainly on GNU operating programs and a Linux kernel, all compiled with uclibc instead of the more common glibc. It is not FHS or LSB compatible. Compared to other Linux distributions, Kevux is space efficient (making it suitable for USB disk operation) and difficult to hack into.
Release Notes: This release added the Kevux Undernet, Kit (Kevux Git Package Manager), DNS Extension Support, and DNS Private Ports. Midori replaces Seamonkey and defaults to HTTPS.
The Tonatiuh project aims to create an accurate and easy to use Monte Carlo ray tracer for the optical simulation of solar concentrating systems. Some of design goals are to facilitate the optical simulation of almost any type of solar concentrating system, to exhibit a clean and flexible software architecture that will allow the user to adapt, expand, increase, and modify its functionality with ease, to achieve operating system independence, and to leverage on the use of other well-established state-of-the-art open source libraries, and tools.
Release Notes: This new version incorporates the option to specify the transmissivity of the media in which the concentrating system is immersed, an optimized ray generation algorithm that analyzes the concentrating geometry as seen from the ray casting surface and determines the areas of the overall ray casting surface from which to actually cast rays, an improved version of the Buie's Sunshape plug-in, and updated Marble's maps that improve the selection of the plant location and the solar time by the user.
