Liberté Linux is a secure, reliable, lightweight, and easy to use Gentoo-based live USB Linux distribution intended as a communication aid in hostile environments. It installs as a regular directory on a USB/SD key, and after a single-click setup, boots on any desktop computer or laptop. The Internet connection is then used to set up a Tor circuit, which handles all network communication. During first boot, a unique email ID is generated from fingerprints of user's certificate and Tor hidden service key. This persistent ID allows one to stealthily communicate with other Liberté users. The distribution includes image and document processing applications, and can function as a secure Web browsing platform. For developers, Liberté can also serve as a robust framework for mastering Gentoo-based live USBs/CDs. The build process is fully automated with incremental build support, and is more mature and reliable than most of Gentoo's own outdated live CD tools.
Release Notes: This release adds ISO images, deployment to EXT2-4 filesystems, better touchpad support in X, better VM integration (including VirtualBox share automounting), more filesystems supported on media, an applet for switching Tor identity, I2P support (experimental, including cable communication), a hardened and extended HTP time daemon, HTML5 video support in Midori, SASL authentication and OTR encryption support in XChat, and VPN support in NetworkManager. Kernel 2.6.39 with SquashFS XZ compression and NX support requires a PentiumIII+ with PAE.

A slightly extended API for easier use. A new special interface to store binary content to a BLOB. A new special class (OrmTableSynchronized) is available for safe use in a multi-thread environment. Many other extensions have been implemented. Small bugfixes for some dialects, and some minor bugs are fixed.
aime is a simple, C-like programming language and an interpreter, both designed to be embeddable in applications. The language is straightforward, trivial, and direct. Its syntax is simpler than that of C, while still providing for full object management, higher order functions, and references. The interpreter is secure and expressive, allowing comprehensive control over program execution and providing powerful methods of application integration.

The stunnel program is designed to work as an SSL encryption wrapper between remote client and local (inetd-startable) or remote server. It can be used to add SSL functionality to commonly used inetd daemons like POP2, POP3, and IMAP servers without any changes in the programs' code. It will negotiate an SSL connection using the OpenSSL or SSLeay libraries. It calls the underlying crypto libraries, so stunnel supports whatever cryptographic algorithms you compiled into your crypto package.
Release Notes: This release adds Unix socket support (e.g., "connect = /var/run/stunnel/socket") and a new certificate verification mode ("verify = 4") to ignore the CA chain and only verify the peer certificate. It also includes some performance and scalability optimizations, and compilation bugfixes.

Tin Hat is a Linux distribution derived from hardened Gentoo. It aims to provide a very secure, stable, and fast desktop environment that lives purely in RAM. Tin Hat boots from CD, or optionally USB pen drive, but it is not a LiveCD in that it does not mount any file system from the boot device. Rather, Tin Hat employs a massive squashfs image which expands into tmpfs upon booting. This makes for long boot times, but remarkable speeds during human-computer interaction.
Release Notes: The toolchain was updated to Gentoo's hardened gcc-4.5.3-r1, glibc-2.12.2, and binutils-2.21.1-r1. The kernel was bumped to 3.0.4 plus GRSEC/PaX patches. About 265 packages were updated and 30 new ones added. Gnome was kept steady at 2.32.1, but Firefox was bumped to 7.0.1 (aka Aurora).
