GNU ddrescue is a data recovery tool. It copies data from one file or block device (hard disk, CD-ROM, etc.) to another, trying to rescue the good parts first in case of read errors. GNU ddrescuelog is a tool that manipulates ddrescue logfiles, shows logfile contents, converts logfiles to/from other formats, compares logfiles, tests rescue status, and can delete a logfile if the rescue is done.

PdfMasher is a tool to convert PDF files containing text into a ready-for-ebook set of HTML files. Most ebook readers support PDF files natively, but it's often a real pain to read those documents because you can't control the font size of the document and have to resort to the zooming feature instead. Another drawback of PDFs on ebook readers is that annotations are not supported. Unlike other tools that convert PDFs to ebooks, PdfMasher does not try to guess the role of each piece of text in the PDF, and instead asks the user about the role of each piece of text, and does so in an efficient manner.

synaptiks is a KDE touchpad tool consisting of a system settings module for touchpad configuration and a tray application for touchpad management. ccextractor is a tool that analyzes video files (DVDs, Transport Streams, Tivo, Media Center, and others) and produces independent subtitle files (.srt and .sami) from the closed captions data. It is portable, small, and very fast. It also supports H.264.

OpenEphyra is a question answering (QA) system. It retrieves answers to natural language questions from the Web and other sources. OpenEphyra comes with implementations of algorithms that proved effective in Carnegie Mellon's Ephyra system, which participated in the TREC evaluations. It is platform independent and can be set up in just a few minutes. The goal of this project is to give researchers the opportunity to develop new QA techniques without worrying about the end-to-end system.

FreeOrion is a turn-based space empire and galactic conquest (4X) computer game. FreeOrion is inspired by the tradition of the Master of Orion games, but is not a clone or remake of that series or any other game.

The game now has space monsters, neutral natives on planets, and a very basic ground combat system for capturing planets. A lot of little balancing tweaks were also made to enhance playability. LemonLDAP::NG is a modular Web SSO based on Apache::Session modules. It simplifies the building of a protected area with a few changes in the application. It manages both authentication and authorization and provides headers for accounting, so you can have full AAA protection for your Web space. LemonLDAP::NG is a complete rewrite of LemonLDAP. All components needed to use it and to administer it are included in the tarball. However, all modules developed for LemonLDAP may not work with LemonLDAP::NG.
