Vortex Library is an implementation of the RFC 3080 and RFC 3081 standard definitions, known as the BEEP Core protocol, implemented on top of the TCP/IP stack. It comes with complete XML-RPC over BEEP RFC 3529 support, complete support for the TUNNEL profile (which allows you to perform proxy operations for every BEEP profile developed), support for HTTP proxies, and more. Monit is a utility for managing and monitoring processes, programs, files, directories, and devices on a Unix system. It conducts automatic maintenance and repair and can execute meaningful causal actions in error situations. It can be used to monitor files, directories, and devices for changes, such as timestamps changes, checksum changes, or size changes. It is controlled via an easy to configure control file based on a free-format, token-oriented syntax. It logs to syslog or to its own log file and notifies users about error conditions via customizable alert messages. It can perform various TCP/IP network checks, protocol checks, and can utilize SSL for such checks. It provides an HTTP(S) interface for access.

The goal of Cheix USB is a Linux image executing from a USB storage device into a running OS, either Linux or Windows, so that the host machine does not have to support booting from the USB device. The root filesystem and boot partitions are read-only to preserve the USB device. All writes are done in a tmpfs. The only writes to the USB storage device are those explicitly made by the user. Cheix's ISO can currently be used to create either a bootable USB or a hard-drive installation.
Release Notes: The installation script has been improved and simplified. The handling of the default user's files has been improved. All non-canonical software has been converted into Slackware packages. Rho has been added for emacs users. The screen now monitors both free memory and battery power. The cheix_admin script and rc.S have been improved. The handling of /etc/fstab and /mnt has been extended.
Oddjob is a Java job scheduler and task automation framework. A GUI designer or XML are used to define a hierarchy of jobs. Sequential, parallel, and conditional execution (or combinations) allow for nearly any business process to be modelled. Oddjob can run on the desktop or on a server and uses JMX to control remote instances via an Explorer-style GUI. Basic Web-based monitoring is also available. It can be embedded in client code and is easily extensible via a simple API.

Oddjob Explorer now has the ability to open new windows, navigation is easier, and more accelerator keys have been added. Suricata is an Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDS/IPS) engine developed by the Open Information Security Foundation and its supporting vendors. The engine is multi-threaded and has native IPv6 support, file extraction capabilities, and many more features. It's capable of loading existing Snort rules and signatures, and supports many frontends through Barnyard2.
Release Notes: Support for AF_PACKET, replace keyword, workers runmode, event suppression, and byte_extract was added. Accuracy and performance was greatly improved. Stability and memory hygiene were improved.
Speedpad is a small and portable ncurses-powered tool to test, train, and increase typing speed on arbitrary text input. It is designed for intermediate-to-advanced level typists and assumes that you have already learned how to touch type. It does not use lessons, single words, or other synthetic stuff. It supports tab expansion, auto indentation, and syntax to train on code. It features a reference speed robot and supports CPS, CPM, WPM, PPM, and CPH/KPH metrics. It shows detailed statistics about speed and helps find and eliminate frequent typos. Stats are dumped to standard output in a machine-readable format after completion, and can be piped into gnuplot.

system-config-printer configures a CUPS server. It uses the CUPS API (bound to Python with pycups) to do this. The communication with the server is performed using IPP. As a result, it is equally able to configure a remote CUPS server as a local one.

Clonezilla is a partition or disk cloning tool similar to Symantec Ghost. It saves and restores only blocks in use on the hard drive if the file system is supported. For unsupported file systems, dd is used instead. It has been used to clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.
Release Notes: The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2011/Oct/25). Partclone was updated to 0.2.32. The restore related menu, i.e. restoredisk and restoreparts, will only be shown when images exist in an image repository. A new mode, "1-2-mdisks" (one image to be restored to multiple disks) was added in the Clonezilla main menu. This is useful for creating massive USB flash drives.

pgpry is a Pthreads-based password recovery program for private OpenPGP keys. It reads private key data from stdin and performs a brute-force attack in order to recover the pass phrase.
