HPCC (High Performance Computing Cluster) stores and processes large quantities of data, processing billions of records per second using massive parallel processing technology. Large amounts of data across disparate data sources can be accessed, analyzed, and manipulated in fractions of seconds. HPCC functions as both a processing and a distributed data storage environment capable of analyzing terabytes of information.
Release Notes: This release includes several miscellaneous fixes and improvements.
DocumentBurster is a tool for report distribution: split, merge, email, and FTP your reports. It has report delivery for Crystal Reports, SSRS Reporting Services, MS Access, Cognos, PeopleSoft, and SAP. It has report bursting for Pentaho, JasperReports, and BIRT. It can upload reports to MS SharePoint.
Release Notes: This release supports profiling system performance in production (through JIP integration) and adds various performance improvements.
Sunflower is a small and highly customizable twin-panel file manager for Linux with support for plugins. It is intended to be an easy-to-use and powerful file manager that seamlessly integrates into the GNOME desktop environment.
Release Notes: As promised, a revamped Sunflower release functional on Gnome3 is here. Besides being able to run on Gnome3, this release brings updated Russian and Czech and newly-added German translations. Getting associated applications should be much more reliable now.
Libiqxmlrpc is an object-oriented library that represents an XML-RPC solution for both client and server. It supports HTTP and HTTPS, both single-threaded and multi-threaded computation models on the server side, method interceptors, and other features.
Release Notes: This release fixes incorrect dumping/parsing of fault responses and fixes coredumps on empty values during request/response parsing that was introduced with the new parsing mechanism.
Freeverb3 is a signal processing library. It includes many types of audio processing effects and signal generators including a linear feedback shift register (LFSR) maximum length sequence (MLS) generator, multiple types of high quality mono+stereo reverb effects, a multi slot impulse response processor, multiband hardknee+softknee compressor and limiter, a stereo enhancer, a limiter, and many types of infinite impulse respose (IIR) and finite impulse response (FIR) filters. Also available is Freeverb3VST, a VST effects plugins package based on the Freeverb3 library.
Release Notes: The new reverb algorithm called ProG Reverb was added. Some small enhancements were made.
Arno's IPTABLES Firewall Script is a secure stateful firewall for both single and multi-homed machines. It supports NAT and SNAT, port forwarding, ADSL ethernet modems with both static and dynamically assigned IPs, MAC address filtering, stealth port scan detection, DMZ support, protection against SYN/ICMP flooding, experimental IPv6 support, multi-interface/aliased-IP support, and extensive user definable logging with rate limiting to prevent log flooding. It has plugin support to add extra features (like SSH Brute Force protection and (Racoon) IPSEC support). It is easy to configure and highly customizable. A filter script that makes your firewall log more readable is also included.
Release Notes: This release fixes the kernel_ver_chk() function to properly handle kernel 3, fixes variables containing REJECT_UDP with IPv6 enabled (it should use "icmp6-addr-unreachable" for IPv6), parses AIF variables with a common function, and logs missing fields with a warning.
Laptop Mode Tools allows you to control various power management settings based on AC/battery power state. Among other things, it controls Linux's "Laptop Mode" feature that allows your hard drive to spin down for extended periods. It can also control CPU frequency scaling and screen blanking timeouts (both terminal and X). It supports automatic hibernation when battery is low.
Release Notes: This release uses proper device references for iwconfig (Debian BTS: #639388), checks for a block device's existence, adds the suspend/resume helper tools pm-helper, pm-suspend, and pm-hibernate, kills the polling daemon when laptop-mode-tools is stopped from init, adds reliable and much better locking mechanics, makes polling the dameon lock safe, makes lmt-udev distribution neutral, and changes Intel HDA Audio's default power save timeout to two seconds.
Cloc counts and computes differences of blank lines, comment lines, and physical lines of source code in many programming languages. It is written entirely in Perl, using only modules from the standard distribution of Perl 5.6 and higher, and so is quite portable.
Release Notes: This release corrects malformed XML output introduced in version 1.54. Support for the Dart language was also added.
pngcrush is an excellent batch-mode compression utility for PNG images. Depending on the application that created the original PNGs, it can improve the file size anywhere from a few percent to 40% or more (completely losslessly). The utility also allows specified PNG chunks (e.g. text comments) to be inserted or deleted, and it can fix incorrect gamma info written by Photoshop 5.0 as well as the erroneous iCCP chunk written by Photoshop 5.5.
Release Notes: Deprecated use of libpng png_struct members and use of non-exported libpng functions have been eliminated. Pngcrush can now be built with system libpng-1.5.x.
Darning is a tool for managing a series or sequence of patches to a software source tree, in the same vein as quilt but with extended functionality. It supports advanced patch concepts such as file mode changes and copying/renaming files. The GUI is the primary interface and the most complete, but a command line interface is also provided with fewer features at this stage.
Release Notes: This is minor feature addition and bugfix release. The subcommands "diff", "copy", and "move" have been added to the CLI, script-based testing has been initiated, and all uncovered bugs have been fixed.
Partclone provide utilities for backing up used blocks and is designed for higher compatibility with the file system by using libraries like e2fslibs. Currently supported filesystems are EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, Reiserfs, Reiser4, XFS, NTFS, FAT, HFS+, UFS, JFS, VMFS, and Btrfs.
Release Notes: This release adds vmfs5 support and some bugfixes.
pfm is a terminal-based file manager written in Perl. All pfm commands can be invoked with one- or two-key commands. It features integration with version control systems, use of the ReadLine library for friendly command line editing, support for executing user-defined commands, colored filenames according to extension or type, a single-file and multiple-file mode, and bookmarks for directories.
Release Notes: This release fixes a bug in determining the exit status of some child commands and an unnecessary delay when a Unix c(O)mmand fails. The "Please Wait" message when reading a directory with many entries now displays a counter and is interruptible. A "redescend" command was added ((M)ore - <F2>) to return to the previous directory. Filename escapes can now use a bash-like substitution modifier.
