GNU Ocrad is an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) program and library based on a feature extraction method. It reads images in pbm (bitmap), pgm (greyscale), or ppm (color) formats and produces text in byte (8-bit) or UTF-8 formats. It also includes a layout analyzer that is able to separate the columns or blocks of text normally found on printed pages. Ocrad can be used as a stand-alone console application, or as a backend to other programs.

html2pot and po2html are tools for translating Web sites. They work in conjunction with all tools that can handle po files: GNU gettext, KDE's KBabel, etc. The purpose is to separate the contents to be translated from the markup.
Release Notes: This release simplifies the scripts, and does not impose an encoding anymore. Firefox doesn't like <script /> empty tags; this has been fixed.
Flowgrind is a tool similar to iperf or netperf. It measures throughput and other metrics for TCP and other protocols. It features some unique characteristics: a distributed architecture, sophisticated flow scheduling, Linux kernel TCP statistics, the Anderson-Darling statistical test, rate-limited flows with uniform or Poisson distribution, and separation between control and test traffic.
Release Notes: A bug was fixed that occurred when the control address was reachable but the test connection failed to establish. Under some circumstances, the packet dump was missing the initial SYN; this issue is fixed.
RBridge is a secure remote Ethernet bridge solution for Linux. It connects two trusted Ethernet segments remotely over UDP using either IPv4 or IPv6 transport. RBridge uses SHA-2 (precisely SHA-256) for authentication, AES for encryption and timestamps for protection against replay attacks. Using a registry mechanism and UDP protocol, RBridge is able to connect directly to the peer from within NAT or firewall protected areas by using a special hole punching technique (thus requiring no configuration at the connecting routers). For this functionality, RBridge itself is able to act as a registry service for any associated pair of RBridges.

F*EX (Frams' Fast File EXchange) is a Web based service for sending very big files from one person to another. The sender uploads the file to the F*EX server and the recipient automatically gets a notification email with a download URL. Files are automatically deleted after download or an expiration date. The recipient and sender only need an email program and a Web browser. Sending to multiple recipients needs storage on the server only once. In contrast with other file transfer services, it has no file size limits at all and comes with shell tools for scripting up/downloading.
Release Notes: Subusers and groupusers no longer need an auth-ID, but can use personalized URLs. The adminstrator can allow self-registration of external users who can send only to internal users (like email), and he can define "public recipients" to which everyone can send files without registration or authentification (like anonymous FTP). Several bugs has been fixed.
Flexmock is a mock/stub/spy library for Python. Its API is inspired by a Ruby library of the same name. However, it is not a goal of Python Flexmock to be a clone of the Ruby version. Instead, the focus is on providing full support for testing Python programs and making the creation of fake objects as unobtrusive as possible. Flexmock’s design focuses on simplicity and intuitiveness. This means that the API is as lean as possible, though a few convenient short-hand methods are provided to aid brevity and readability. Flexmock declarations are structured to read more like English sentences than API calls, and it is possible to chain them together in any order to achieve high degree of expressiveness in a single line of code.

The symbolic math application with a simple command-line interface is designed to be a colorful algebra calculator that is reliable, responsive, and convenient to use. The symbolic math library is lightweight and easy to include in other software, due to being written entirely in C with no additional dependencies.

AdlMIDI is a command line program that plays MIDI files using software OPL3 emulation (FM synthesis). It has a console UI. It features a built-in selection of 50 patch sets, most of which are General MIDI compatible, but some of which are customized for playing original background music soundtracks of select PC games.
Release Notes: This release changes the Makefile such that the same Makefile will build a Windows binary on Cygwin, and an SDL-using binary on any other system, without the user having to change the Makefile.
