When is an extremely simple personal calendar program, aimed at the Unix geek who wants something minimalistic. It can keep track of things you need to do on particular dates. It's a very short and simple program, so you can easily tinker with it yourself. It doesn't depend on any libraries, so it's easy to install. You should be able to install it on any system where Perl is available, even if you don't have privileges for installing libraries. Its file format is a simple text file, which you can edit in your favorite editor.
Release Notes: A new option, --noneighboring_months, is provided in order to allow finer control over the months for which calendars are output by "when c."
GeomSpace is interactive geometry software for different geometric spaces. You can build your own universe of any dimension and with any geometry. You can choose Euclidean, elliptic, hyperbolic, or Minkowskii, among other spaces.
Release Notes: This release features smarter construction and the ability to remove geometry elements.
slapt-src is a utility to make querying, retrieving, and building slackbuilds as easy as working with binary packages with slapt-get.
Release Notes: This release features updated German and Greek translations, as well as updated error handling when parsing configuration.
Mutt is a small but very powerful text-based MIME mail client. It is highly configurable, and is well-suited to the mail power user with advanced features like key bindings, keyboard macros, mail threading, regular expression searches, and a powerful pattern matching language for selecting groups of messages.
Release Notes: This release contains major improvements. The most notable user-visible change (aside from a large number of minor bugfixes) is the new $mail_check_recent flag to partially address the major blocker bug for 1.6.
Gnome Subtitles is a subtitle editor for the GNOME desktop. It supports the most common text-based subtitle formats, video previewing, timings synchronization and subtitle translation.
Release Notes: There is a new feature for quickly setting times with a single button. It's now possible to periodically backup subtitle files. New features for video seeking and subtitle selection are also included: loop the video playback to the selected subtitles, seek the video to the selected subtitle, select the subtitle for the video position, and auto select subtitles as the video is playing. A bug when using the Synchronize All Subtitles option has been fixed, and activating a sync point now seeks to its new time instead of the old one. A bug drag-and-dropping files with spaces in their path has been fixed.
FileBot is a tool for renaming movies, TV shows, or Anime, and for downloading subtitles. It's smart, streamlined for simplicity, and just works. It includes commandline interface for automation.
Release Notes: Support was added for airdate in the episode naming scheme and matching logic. The directory drop behavior was changed so that files are loaded recursively now. All Web service interfaces that were broken over time were fixed and updated.
Funifs is a variant of the unionfs filesystem limited to read-only unions of read-only branches. It is implemented in Perl using the Fuse.pm API.
Release Notes: The init.d/fuse file was refactored to init.d/funifs. An RPM build link was added.
t-prot (TOFU Protection) is a filter which improves the readability of email messages and Usenet posts by hiding some of their annoying parts. The annoyances it handles include mailing list footers, signatures, TOFU, sequences of blank lines, and repeated punctuation. TOFU is an acronym that stands for "Text oben, Fullquote unten", a German reference to the practice of adding just a few lines of original text and quoting a complete message below them.
Release Notes: Two bugs have been fixed that prevented t-prot from detecting mutt's PGP output and message blocks.
grake is a simple command line tool for scanning Web pages for YouTube links.
Release Notes: --json was added, an uninitialized title bug was fixed, and a nested quantifiers in regex error with Perl 5.8 was addressed.
umph is a command line tool for parsing video links from Youtube feeds, such as playlists, favorites, and uploads. The parsed video links are printed to the standard output, each separated by a newline.
Release Notes: --json was added.
tvpvrd is a PVR daemon for Linux that offers the ability to schedule and manage TV recordings using one or multiple installed analogue TV capture cards, e.g. Hauppauge. The daemon is interfaced either through its full command language via a provided command line shell or through a basic (built-in) Web interface provided by the built in micro Web server. The goal is to provide an advanced recording and transcoding (using ffmpeg) server without the need to configure databases or a complex GUI. The server is completely self-contained and uses an XML DB in plain text format to store future recordings.
Release Notes: The code is compatible with extended warnings for potentially dangerous printf formats using -Wformat=2, since this seems to be the default on some systems. Build scripts now build without warning on Ubuntu as well.
HolyGrail is an implementation of the GTD's next action list. In other words, it's a kind of todo list. It is composed of realms (contexts), quests (projects), and missions (todos). A realm groups missions, and generally represents a location or a situation, e.g. "at work", "at home", or "code". A mission is the next physical action to do to complete your goal. A quest is a succession of missions; it represents a goal. Every time what you are planning requires more than one next action, create a project.
Release Notes: Initial freshmeat announcement.
Check updates is a Nagios monitoring system plugin to check if an RPM-based system (Red Hat, Fedora, or CentOS) is up to date.
Release Notes: This release fixes the licensing information and a typo in the AUTHORS file (an update is needed for the inclusion in the Fedora and EPEL repositories).
Clonezilla is a partition or disk cloning tool similar to Symantec Ghost. It saves and restores only blocks in use on the hard drive if the file system is supported. For unsupported file systems, dd is used instead. It has been used to clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.
Release Notes: The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2010/Oct/31). A bug about failing when restoring the swap partition on a GPT disk has been fixed. A better mechanism was implemented in ocs-live-run-menu so that everything can be put into a line in the boot parameter ocs_live_run without using ocs_live_extra_param.
Roundcube Webmail is a browser-based, multilingual IMAP client with an application-like user interface. It provides the full functionality you expect from an email client, including MIME support, address book, and folder manipulation. High extensibility is granted by the plugin API and the user interface is fully skinnable using XHTML and CSS 2.
Release Notes: New features like threaded message listing and contact groups support as well as many little improvements that make email reading with Roundcube an even better experience.
maildirproc is a program that processes one or several existing mail boxes in the maildir format. It is primarily focused on mail sorting, which means moving, copying, forwarding, and deleting mail according to a set of rules. It can be seen as an alternative to procmail, but instead of being a delivery agent (which wants to be part of the delivery chain), maildirproc only processes mail which has already been delivered. That is a feature, not a bug.
Release Notes: maildirproc now uses Python 3.x as its configuration language. For backwards compatibility with Python 2.x, there is also a maildirproc-python2 release archive.
Release Notes: This release adds ellipsis (...) text after cut.
PyMETAR is a Python module that provides easy access to NOAA's METAR weather reports.
Release Notes: A bug in cloud cover parsing and one in cycle handing have been fixed. Additionally, more code cleanup has been done and a note about the future of the project has been added to the README.
Fuzzy sets for Ada is a library providing implementations of confidence factors with the operations not, and, or, xor, +, and *, classical fuzzy sets with the set-theoretic operations and the operations of the possibility theory, intuitionistic fuzzy sets with the operations on them, fuzzy logic based on the intuitionistic fuzzy sets and the possibility theory; fuzzy numbers, both integer and floating-point with conventional arithmetical operations, and linguistic variables and sets of linguistic variables with operations on them. String-oriented I/O is supported. A rich set of GTK+ GUI widgets is provided.
Release Notes: A fuzzy set renderer property was added to prefix the rendered value with a string. The fuzzy set renderer commits changes when Enter is pressed while no drop down has been popped up. The Get procedure was added to Gtk.Generic_Fuzzy_Linguistic_Set_Measure_Tree_View and Gtk.Generic_Fuzzy_Linguistic_Set_Measure_Editor gets a dimensioned set of linguistic variables as a dimensionless set and scale. Fuzzy.Stream_IO provides conversions to stream element arrays. A minor bug was fixed in Fuzzy.Abstract_Edit.Named.
django-easymode lets you create backends for dynamic Flash/Flex Web sites. Easymode makes internationalization simple and outputs XML by default. To tailor the XML to your application, you can transform it using XSLT templates, which easymode integrates.
Release Notes: A nofollow option was added to mark foreign keys that shouldn't be followed by the serializer. Nofollow can be used to optimize easymode's queries when generating XML.
The CodeAssistor Editor is a programming editor that can be useful for editing C/C++, Objective C/C++, Makefiles, Java, SQL, TXT, PHP, Bash, Batch, Perl, Python, Flex, and Bison. The CodeAssistor Editor strives to be small, fast, and simple. Major features include code colorizing and code folding. It is similar to TextEdit, Notepad, and Notepad++.
Release Notes: This version asks if you want to update if an external program touched the file you are working on. Windows opens a new editor when "File->Open" is used, but doesn't open a new editor if you are already in a new document. More refactoring and bugfixing were done. The user interface was made more intuitive. Auto-indenting was implemented. The ability to search and replace with regular expressions was added.
Asymptote is a powerful descriptive 2D and 3D vector graphics language for technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like syntax. It provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting that LaTeX does for scientific text. Asymptote is a programming language as opposed to just a graphics program. It can exploit the best features of script (command-driven) and graphical user interface (GUI) methods. High-level graphics commands are implemented in the language itself, allowing them to be easily tailored to specific applications.
Release Notes: The -P option required by ghostscript 9.00 was added. The limits command now works correctly with reversed axes. The asyinclude command of asymptote.sty was improved so that asy source files do not need to be sent to publishers; the asy extension is now optional. A mktemp function was implemented. Further MS Windows installer problems were addressed.
Soxer is a Web publishing tool intended for the lazy programmer and designer. It allows the creation and maintenance of document driven Web sites, such as corporate sites, blogs, and project sites, and is also extremely useful for creating mockups for database driven applications. It forms a very thin layer above Sinatra to deliver data from a set of YAML files rather than a database.
Release Notes: Soxer has been completely modularized by sinatra's standards. It can now play nicely with all modular Sinatra applications and be included in standalone applications as well. Some speed improvements and code cleanup were done.
BSW IRC Proxy translates the chat aspect of the proprietary binary protocol used in the Java client for the online gaming portal BrettSpielWelt.de to the standardized features of IRC (RFC 1459, 2810, 2811, particularly 2812, and 2813). It keeps a persistent connection to the client, server, and IRC client, in case one of them should vanish.
Release Notes: Room cache mostly works, but only by caching packets for room desc. The Java default version "(unknown)" is ignored from upstream. This release also makes the client show the info applet on the first call by sending a geometry (?) packet 0x2711. Rudimentary packet preparsing for string extraction has been implemented (-> parsed_packet_t). struct bswmsg was removed since it was never used.
Mireka is a mail server with SMTP, Mail Submission, and POP3 services. It can also be used as an SMTP proxy. As a proxy, it can help to prevent or diagnose mail problems, like outgoing backscatter spam. It provides detailed logging, basic mail traffic statistics, tarpit to prevent email harvesting, and loop detection. It can filter email by DNSBL, SPF, mail size, local domains, and recipients list. Local recipients can be specified using regular expressions. TLS is supported for incoming connections. Aliases, forward lists, and very simple mailing lists can be configured in XML. Custom filters and other components can be written in Java, and they can be easily implemented and installed.
Release Notes: Now it can also be used as a standalone, send-only mail server. It uses file-system based mail queues.
