Syslinux is a collection of boot loaders for Linux and other operating systems which operates on Linux ext2/ext3 filesystems, MS-DOS FAT filesystems, network servers using PXE firmware, or from CD-ROMs. Syslinux has an advanced extension API and contains two optional menu systems. It also includes MEMDISK, a tool for booting legacy operating systems from non-traditional media like PXE or CD-ROM.

Release Notes: This is primarily a bugfix release over 4.00. However, it does include an experimental Lua scripting module and a few other enhancements.

MASH is a modular, automated script harness. It allows users to implement simple harnesses that perform work external to a system. The framework will invoke that harness as outlined by an XML script. For example, when using the framework to test a system you could create a script that cleans and loads a database, FTPs some data, submits a login form, and verifies HTTP information. Harnesses can easily be built to do almost anything (many harnesses are provided), not just Web page verification. While harnesses are written in Java, the scripts may be run against any type of system as harnesses are intended to act as clients.

Release Notes: Log errors were found during validation to the log. This release can calculate the name of the test when no test name is given. This is done by looking at the file name and removing the path of the suite invoking the test. A clear break is provided between tests in the logs.

Deposit and dividend will no longer contain meaningless records due to incorrect data structure handling by their respective dialog boxes.

libjpeg-turbo is a high-speed version of libjpeg for x86 and x86-64 processors. It uses SIMD instructions (MMX, SSE, SSE2) to accelerate baseline JPEG compression and decompression. libjpeg-turbo is generally 2-4 times as fast as the unmodified version of libjpeg. It also includes a wrapper library for the TurboJPEG API used by VirtualGL and TurboVNC. It was originally based on libjpeg/SIMD but has improved support for Mac OS X, 64-bit platforms, 32-bit and big endian pixel formats (RGBA/BGRA/ABGR/ARGB), accelerated Huffman encoding/decoding, and various other fixes.

SpectMorph allows you to analyze samples of musical instruments and to combine them (morphing). It can be used to construct hybrid sounds, e.g. a sound between a trumpet and a flute, or smooth transitions, e.g. a sound that starts as a trumpet and then gradually changes to a flute. Interpolating between two samples of the same instrument (different attack velocity of a piano) could be interesting. The analysis process decomposes samples into a sum of sine waves (corresponding to the partials present in the signal, or the part of the signal perceived as "tone") and additional noise. SpectMorph is thus based on the research on Spectral Modelling Synthesis.
