Download Website 30 Nov 21:44 Gangplank conferencing system 1.0.0.beta.8

Screenshot

Gangplank is a Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) system (or "chat server") which supports real-time communication between users, currently using a text-based user interface. It runs as an Internet server which implements the standard telnet protocol, so no special client program is necessary for users. Server-side processing provides input editing/history and terminal- handling features over the telnet connection for standard ANSI terminals. This code has been in production use on a private server since early 1993. This single-process server is fast, efficient and stable.

Release Notes: This release fixes several portability issues. In particular, it builds on Solaris again, and adds NetBSD, AIX, IRIX, and SunOS to the list of supported platforms.

Download No website 30 Nov 21:42 dbMan 0.26

Screenshot

dbMan is a complex SQL monitor for common database systems (PgSQL, Oracle, MySQL etc.). It's based on Perl and DBI interfaces. Features include a command history buffer, tab completion, editing Oracle objects, simultaneous connections, SQL help, importing and exporting of tables, Oracle explain plan, and more. dbMan is made as a simple kernel and many extension modules, and you can make your modules with a simple HOWTO.

Release Notes: This release adds an SQL insert-like output format, improves the plain output format, corrects modules, corrects dubious regression tests, and includes bugfixes.

Download Website 30 Nov 21:42 Y Object Database Adapter 2.0

Screenshot

Y Object Database Adapter (YODA) is an environment for creating and running network accessible applications. It can permanently store objects of any type and complexity, and supports attributes of most types (with the exception of only a few Python types, such as thread locks). It can be extended with YODA- server applications, and an application compiler and loader are provided.

Release Notes: This release is now designed to handle large event streams, features automatic discovery of other YES servers, and uses the XMLRPC protocol. It now also automatically discovers the event queues on other YES servers and will file them accordingly, and supports multicasts as well as broadcasts.

Download Website 30 Nov 21:39 EmPy 2.2.1

Screenshot

EmPy is a system for embedding Python expressions and statements in template text. It takes an EmPy source file, processes it, and produces output. This is accomplished via expansions, which are special signals to the EmPy system and are set off by a special prefix (by default the at sign, '@'). It can expand arbitrary Python expressions and statements in this way, as well as a variety of special forms. Textual data not explicitly delimited in this way is sent unaffected to the output, allowing Python to be used in effect as a markup language. Also supported are callbacks via hooks, recording and playback via diversions, and dynamic, chainable filters. The system is highly configurable via command line options and embedded commands.

Release Notes: This release tweaks the test script to avoid writing unnecessary temporary file, adds an 'Interpreter.single' method, exposes 'evaluate', 'execute', 'substitute', and 'single' methods to the pseudomodule, adds (rather obvious) 'EMPY_OPTIONS' environment variable support, adds 'empy.enableHooks' and 'empy.disableHooks', and includes an optimization to transparently disable hooks until they are actually used.

Download Website 30 Nov 20:08 bogofilter 0.9.1

Screenshot

Bogofilter is a Bayesian spam filter. In its normal mode of operation, it takes an email message or other text on standard input, does a statistical check against lists of "good" and "bad" words, and returns a status code indicating whether or not the message is spam. Bogofilter is designed with fast algorithms (including Berkeley DB system), coded directly in C, and tuned for speed, so it can be used for production by sites that process a lot of mail.

Release Notes: Support for Fisher's method of combining probabilities was added, use '-f' to choose it. Reading the configuration file can be controlled with the '-c file' and '-C' switches. Registering big mbox files was sped up. More tests were added, checking against reference results to make sure everything works correctly. Many bugs were fixed, among them portability fixes. Internal changes were also made.

Download Website 30 Nov 20:07 LostIRC 0.2.2

Screenshot

LostIRC is a simple, yet very useful IRC client. It has features such as tab-autocompletion, multiple server support, automatic joining of servers/channels, and DCC sending, which should cover the needs of most people. Another design goal is 100% keyboard controllability. LostIRC was written using the gtkmm GUI library.

Release Notes: The nicklist now sorts properly. It's now possible to specify a DCC port instead of letting the client choose randomly. Icons are used in the interface instead of just text buttons. Various other feature enhancements and bugfixes were also made.

Download Website 30 Nov 20:01 perltidy 20021130

Download Website 30 Nov 20:01 libSieve 2.1.1

Screenshot

libSieve is an implementation of the Sieve mail sorting language originally developed for the Cyrus mail system. libSieve helps to bring mail sorting functionality into your mail server application without the need to reinvent the wheel. As a library, it is not intended for end users expecting a ready-to-run program.

Release Notes: Removal of the com_err library, conversion to GNU autotools for the build process, and forking from CMU Sieve 2.1.

Download Website 30 Nov 19:58 duplicity 0.4.0

Screenshot

duplicity is an incremental backup tool that backs up files and directories by building tar-format volumes and uploading them to a file server. By default, these volumes will be GPG encrypted, although simple gzipping is also supported. It supports local, FTP, and ssh/scp back-ends. Because it uses librsync, archives only record the parts of files that have changed since the last backup. It supports deleted files, full Unix permissions, directories, symbolic links, and fifos, but currently not hard links.

Release Notes: Verify mode and unencrypted operation.

Download Website 30 Nov 19:58 Poslib DNS library 0.9.0

Pixory displays image metadata such as the EXIF information embedded in image files by most digital cameras and scanners.

Release Notes: This release adds image uploads and downloads. You can now upload/download image files individually or in bulk archives (zip). When uploading a zip archive, pixory automatically unzips the archive and makes the pictures available.

Download Website 30 Nov 14:10 DansGuardian 2.5.3

Screenshot

DansGuardian is a Web content filtering proxy that uses Squid to do all the fetching. It filters using multiple methods including, but not limited to, phrase matching, file extension matching, MIME type matching, PICS filtering, and URL/domain blocking. It has the ability to switch off filtering by certain criteria including username, domain name, source IP, etc. The configurable logging produces a log in an easy to read format. It has the option to only log text-based pages, thus significantly reducing redundant information (such as every image on a page).

Release Notes: MacOS X is now supported. A limit can now be put on the size of plain-text content filtered, which overcomes problems where sites label their ISO files as text. logrotate.d support was improved. gcc 3 support was improved. A problem with logged URLs getting an additional '/' appended when using Mozilla has been fixed. A number of typographical mistakes in the code and config files have been corrected.

Release Notes:

No download Website 30 Nov 12:47 ulim 1.0

Screenshot

Ulim is a Linux kernel module which enforces resource limits on every process in the system. There are already solutions like pam_limit, but there are some places where the user can execute his programs, but PAM is not used (for example .forward or .procmailrc files, or CGI scripts). Ulim works in the kernel and sets the limits whenever a process changes its real UID, so every process run by a user will have the correct limits.
