The Working Overloaded Linux Kernel (WOLK) project provides stable and development kernels for either server or testing purposes. These kernels provide a server kernel and also a service for developers and end users who can't be up-to-date with the latest kernels/patches but want to test new kernel features. Release Notes: This release adds an encrypting ethernet bridge, ebtales firewalling for ethernet bridge v2.0.003, an option to disable the OOM killer, soft and hard file descriptor limits, and TCP zero copy for mmapped files. Fixes were made for static AFS and 3c590/3c980 compilation, VIA Apollo Pro266 compilation, IDE-SCSI crashes, and a local DoS problem. grsecurity was updated to 1.9.8 final and procinfo (fast ps) to 20021231. There were also many other code fixes.

INN (InterNetNews) is an extremely flexible and configurable Usenet / netnews news server. It supports accepting articles via either NNTP connections or via UUCP, as well as serving out articles to reading clients via NNTP. It supports multiple different ways of sending outgoing articles to other hosts, as well as multiple different storage mechanisms for articles and article overview information via internal APIs. Compared to other news servers, INN is more complicated with a steeper learning curve, but is extremely flexible and configurable, comes with a large suite of supporting programs, and supports embedded filters in either Perl or Python.

Release Notes: The single group LIST ACTIVE is now hidden if users don't have permission to access it. Fixes were made to XHDR and XPAT header parsing, CNFS is now more robust against crashes, and a tradspool memory leak was fixed. Some bugs with pgpverify and GnuPG were also fixed, along with compilation fixes for Perl 5.8.0, BerkeleyDB 4.x, Linux and large files, Tru64, and ReiserFS. Some obscure problems in the header handling of nnrpd were fixed, and the sample control.ctl file was updated.

imgSeek is a photo collection manager capable of searching through an image database, in which the query is expressed either as a rough sketch painted by the user or as another image you supply. You simply draw a rough sketch of what you want to find and imgSeek displays for you a thumbnail view of the best matches. You may also find duplicate images automatically, generate Web photo albums, edit image metadata including EXIF JPEG data, organize images into a keyword hierarchy, and more.

Release Notes: Huge speed improvements were achieved with a new C extension module. An HTML photo album generator was included, and image metadata is now supported. Some bugfixes were also made.

It can produce output in binary, MZ, PE, COFF, or ELF format. It includes powerful but easy-to-use macroinstruction support and does multiple passes to optimize the instruction codes for size. It is written entirely in assembly language.

CONNection ManaGeR (connmgr) is a Unix command line client wrapper script. It is a handy commandline utility for people who have many remote user accounts that are accessed via ssh, sftp, scp, ftp, telnet, rlogin, rsh, and rcp. connmgr includes sshmgr (Open SSH client wrapper), scmdmgr (which allows for remote command execution), sftpmgr (which is like sshmgr but starts an sftp session), scpget/scpput (scp wrappers), ftpmgr (same as sftpmgr but for normal FTP), telnetmgr (same as sshmgr but for telnet), rloginmgr (same as sshmgr but for rlogin), rshmgr (same as scmdmgr but for rsh), and rcpget/rcpput (rcp wrappers). All of these utilize a shared configuration file for user account profiles. Passwords are not stored in this plain text configuration file and the use of RSA keys for SSH connections is strongly suggested.

Release Notes: ftpmgr and telnetmgr were added, the config file format and documentation were updated, many little fixes were made, and the code was cleaned up.

It gives users a great deal of control over the comments shown alongside each picture, and the way the pictures are ordered and grouped. Release Notes: The output plugin interface was modified, and the ability to generate an HTML page with navigation buttons for each picture was added. Include files were also added.

The number perl script will print the English name of a number. One can print names of extremely large numbers (e.g. 1e1234567). Number can be run on the command line, or as a CGI script when run as 'number.cgi'. Number prints names in both the American and European naming system. It can also print the decimal expansion of a number in either naming system.

Release Notes: A bug where the names of numbers greater than 10^(6*10^15) in European systems and greater than 10^(3*10^15) in the American system were incorrect was fixed. Some work-arounds for broken versions of the Math::BigInt module were implemented, and the Web size limit was increased.

JTMOS stands for "Jari Tuominen's Minimal Operating System". The JTMOS operating system project aims to create a fully functional multitasking x86 operating system. It primarily targets low-end systems with small hard disks, preferably i586 family or newer. Currently focus in the project is on communication, TCP/IP stack, and building up FAT file system support. JTMOS mimics some features from Linux-style operating systems like the root directory system. JTMOS can already boot up from DOS, or independently from hard disk or floppy disk with its own custom bootloader.

The Bonobo UI Library provides UI code for Bonobo, the Object Activation Framework for GNOME 2. Bonobo has a similar purpose to gnorba, the GNOME 1.x CORBA activation library, and will replace it for GNOME 2.0. It allows you to do much more powerful activation queries than gnorba. Each server is described by an XML file that defines its attributes. When querying or activating, you can specify complex requirements using the OAF query language.

Release Notes: This release has many changes from 1.9.7, including new chroot restrictions, additional ACL features, and a feature that logs the IP of an attacker with an alert or audit.
